I know Bater Boy was thinking of ordering their anise. Myabe when he gets back you can PM him, although I hate to think of the threat you could offer Bater Boy.

What should we do for the future? Oh, I don't know. Drive around, have fun, a few kids and we can figure out the future after HOLY SHIT I'M 38 YEARS OLD

I was going to place an order with them until the Jade- the only REAL Burnt™ absinthe announcement. Maybe in another couple months (need to restock Kubler and Segarra). I'll let you know when I do...if you can wait that long.

I got an email saying that FSC is going to remove the pot stills from their site because some piss-complected twerps complained that distilling was illegal in their country and they shouldn't have to be exposed to seeing alambics for sale on the web, (as if you couldn't find them on the web anyway or as if absinthe and Cuban cigars were not at least in a shady legal area . . .).

Maybe we should request that they keep them on the site. Eiter way, it's slimy moralists and paranoid fear-mongers that screw up crap for everyone. :BL:

I don’t think it had anything to do with morality. I believe the point that was made was that one pot still seizure would put SC under scrutiny, resulting in all future shipments from them being inspected.

Ebay would not be a good place to buy one through, since they have made a point of stating they will not protect peoples privacy. In fact they don't even require a warrant before they share information with government agencies.

Well, I'm one of the "complainers." I emailed Albert and pointed out to him that simple possession of a still, whether for "decorative" purposes or not, can result in jail time in the US. Therefore, a single seizure ("We will reduce your sentence if you tell us where you got it . . .") would result in all FSC shipments being flagged for inspection.

As importing alcohol without a license (never mind absinthe) and importing Cuban cigars (with or without a license) are both illegal activities, that single still seizure would probably cost FSC the entire US market.

While I can no doubt get Serpis somewhere else, I like buying it from FSC, and would like to continue to have that option. Those who cruise the website you posted already know how to get a still, if they so desire. Our "complaints" were intended to protect Albert from his own aspirations, and save him the loss of an entire market, not that we might avoid seeing evil copper alambics online.

Sometimes it is not necessarly greed, so much as a missunderstanding of the market.

Has anyone ordered the wormwood from FSC?

I havent, but I order some of their bottles. With the time it takes for arrival, I would suggest just planting some seeds and waiting. I have a few I grew from seed, and they are doing well (potted, to keep the oils from killing off other plants). They start really easily, just throw them on top of damp soil and keep them moist. Now is the time to plant, as they will flower by late srping-thru-summer. I still have an excess of seeds that I have no use for. They are really small however, and easy to lose. I harvested about an once that I dried, sort of a waste at this point. To make a long story short, go for the seeds...

I bought some A.A. from FSC.
It sucks.
Same shitty bulgarian crap you get from most US sources.

Keep in mind that homegrown quality wormwood is pretty valuable.
If you harvest the flowers at their peak, and cure it in glass bottles, it'll fetch $50/lb, or a nice "other" trade.
