No it isn't. I saw a video of David Nathan talking about this absinthe. It was distilled in Pernot...

There have been a few posts about it at the French forum. Search on "sauvage", but not all the results will be about that product - some are just about roadside fennel.

I can't read more than 5 or 6 posts in the WS, and I can't believe people still get worked up over absinthe. *yawn*, get a life. It's not 2002 anymore.
for some people, there's money in absinthe. And for some, there's only absinthe in absinthe.

Well, that's not mutually exclusive with hype. If you have a commercial venture, even if the product's good it's going to sell better if there's a hype (of course, if the product is bad then hype's the only thing that sells it).

Sauvage is actually made form quality ingredients (the wormwood is to die for, and very different from Duvallon's wild wormwood) and based on accumulated knowledge (anyone who tastes that an has an old bottle of Un Emile will know what I mean).

The bottles we had in Boveresse were pretty good, though we are admittedly not 100% sure whether the commercial product will be identical (I'm not sure the bottles we had were made with regulations in mind). On this forum, I know writing that means "let the conspiracy theories begin!", but hey, go right ahead.

Is this one of those absinthes that are so genuinely authentical [sic] that they don't louche?

Nope. I'm sorry to report that it does louche. Which means it can't be authentical [sic], right?

Yup. This ain't Roquette. It was actually quite good, but the way Socky grabbed the bottles after everyone had had a glass makes me think those bottles weren't from the production run. I'm still tempted to buy a bottle, though.
