Drunk driving incidents down.
Alcohol consumption stable.

The economic fallout
isn't all bad.

ATLANTA (AP) -- Drunken driving incidents have fallen 30 percent in the last five years, and last year were at their lowest mark in nearly two decades, according to a new federal report.

The decline may be due to the down economy: Other research suggests people are still drinking as heavily as in years past, so some may just be finding cheaper ways of imbibing than by going to bars, night clubs and restaurants.

"One possibility is that people are drinking at home more and driving less after drinking," said Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

I've been drinking more and driving less.
Drinking for medicinal reasons.

You may say I'm a drinker
but I'm not the only one.

I hate spending money in bars even more than I hate driving.

It's the price of gas.
People can't afford to drive sober...

I mostly drink beer in bars.
It usually gives me gas.

I've been drinking at home a lot more. I can't afford to go out like the good ole' days.
for some people, there's money in absinthe. And for some, there's only absinthe in absinthe.

There're two bars in stumbling distance that serve absinthe. PA bars are limited by what the man allows (4 brands?).

I have other hidden PA facts I think we'd all like me to keep to myself. Things like
They smelt of pubs and wormwood scrubs

Dinky! I'd ask how the house fared in the flood but what I really want to know is your booze alright?

House.... Meh. All things considered it faired ok. I've got a lot of friend who lost a lot.
The booze (in the flooded basement), was sealed tight and so far looks good. Labels on some wine were destroyed, but innards are still tasty. Thanks for asking.
