Why My Liberal Neighbors Aren’t Speaking To Me Anymore

I recently asked my neighbors’ little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President some day. Both of her parents, are liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, ‘If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?’Posted Image

She replied, ‘I’d give food and houses to all the homeless people.’

Her parents beamed with pride.

’Wow…what a worthy goal.’ I told her, ‘But you don’t have to wait until you’re President to do that! You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I’ll pay you $50. Then I’ll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house.‘

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, ’ Why doesn’t the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50? ‘

I said, ‘Welcome to Conservatism.’

Her parents still aren’t speaking to me.

"Why doesn’t the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?"

Because the government would require the employer make sure he didn't "discriminate" on the basis of race, and to collect taxes on the $50, provide medical insurance, liability insurance, a handicap parking spot, etc. etc.

John Stossel had a show on TV last week, called "Illegal Everything" or some such that pissed me off so much I had to stop watching it. If you want to start a taxicab business in NYC, you have to pay a million dollar fee. That's for one car and one driver.

I watched something called wild justice last night and almost went into a rage. The pig took a pile of porter house steaks of his high end grill and went and busted some poor hill billys with a hog head in the pantry.. Apparently shooting feral pigs is illegal. It should be open season on those bastards.

God damn customs held my shipment for a month and when I got it they had slashed all the seed bags from top to bottom. 20 55 pound bags of fennel. They could have opened them at the top. A 6 inch piece of tape was plastered side ways across 20 inch long slashes, the bags were all leaking like hour glasses. The tape was green and it said "Homeland security" In all, 4 agencies examined the load and it looked like they each stabbed, ripped and dumped everything they touched. The load was nearly destroyed and I had to pay the thugs almost 1000 dollars for the pleasure of them ass raping my herbs.

Feral pigs are a big problem in Texas and becoming so or already there in other states. There's even a TV show about some hog-hunting queen. Any state giving people trouble for shooting them is behind the curve.

http://mdc.mo.gov/la...eral-hogs-sight

There should be an open season on sack-slashing thugs as well - that really pisses me off.

None are demonized like those who act against the interests of the ruling power, which today are the international banks and the multinationals.

SHERIFF EXAM

A young Texan grew up wanting to be a lawman.

He grew up big, 6' 2", strong as a longhorn, and fast as mustang. He could shoot a bottle cap tossed in the air at 40 paces.

When he finally came of age, he applied to where he had only dreamed of working: the West Texas Sheriff's Department.

After a series of tests and interviews, the Chief Deputy finally called him into his office for the young man's last interview.

The Chief Deputy said, "You're a big strong kid and you can really shoot. So far your qualifications all look good, but we have, what you might call, an "Attitude Suitability Test", that you must take before you can be accepted.

We just don't let anyone carry our badge, son."

Then, sliding a service pistol and a box of ammo across the desk, the Chief said, "Take this pistol and go out and shoot:

six illegal aliens,

six lawyers,

six meth dealers,

six Muslim extremists,

and a rabbit."

"Why the rabbit?" queried the applicant.

"You pass," said the Chief Deputy. "When can you start?"

I LOVE TEXAS

Local residents were stunned, and a community spokesman said: "We're all shocked; we never knew we had a library."

Last Tuesday President Obama got off the helicopter in front of The White House - carrying a baby piglet under each arm. The squared-away Marine guard snapped to attention, saluted and said:  "Nice pigs, sir."

The President replied: "These are not pigs. These are Authentic Arkansas Razorback Hogs. I got one for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and I got one for former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi."

The squared-away Marine again snapped to attention, salutes and said, "Excellent trade, sir."

Posted 17 July 2015 - 10:01 PM

It is a slow day in a little Greek village.  The  rain is beating down, and the streets are deserted.  Times are tough, everybody is in debt, and everybody lives on credit.

On this particular day, a rich German tourist is driving through the village, stops at the local hotel and lays a 100 euro note on the desk, telling the hotel owner he wants to inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick a room in which to spend the night.

The owner gives him some keys.  As soon as the visitor has walked upstairs, the hotelier grabs the 100 euro note and runs next door to pay his debt to the butcher.

The butcher takes the 100 euro note and runs down the street to repay his debt to the pig farmer.

The pig farmer takes the 100 euro note and heads off to pay his bill at the supplier of feed and fuel.

The guy at the Farmers' Co-op takes the 100 euro note and runs to pay his drinks bill at the taverna.

The publican slips the money along to the local prostitute drinking at the bar, who has also been facing hard times and has had to offer him her "services" on credit.

The hooker then rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill to the hotel owner with the 100 euro note.

The hotel proprietor then places the 100 euro note back on the counter so the rich German will not suspect anything.
At that moment the German comes down the stairs, picks up the 100 euro note, states that the rooms are not satisfactory, pockets the money, and leaves town.

No one produced anything.  No one earned anything.  However, the whole village is now out of debt and looking to the future with a lot more optimism.

And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is how the Greek government hopes to fix its economic problems.

The IRS has returned the Tax Return to a man in New Jersey after he apparently
answered one of the questions incorrectly.
In response to the question, "Do you have anyone dependent on you ?"
The man wrote: "9.5 million illegal immigrants, 1.1 million crackheads, 3.4 million unemployable scroungers, 80,000 criminals in over 85 prisons plus 650 idiots in Washington and the entire group that call themselves Politicians."

IRS stated that the response he gave was unacceptable.

The man's response back was, "Who did I leave out?"

Air Force One crashes in the middle of rural America :

A large jet plane has crashed on a farm in the middle of rural
Kentucky, feared to be Air Force One. Panic stricken, the local sheriffs
department has mobilized and descended on the farm in force. By the
time they got there, the aircraft was totally destroyed with only a
burned hull left, smoldering in a tree line that bordered the farm.

The sheriff
and his men entered the smoking mess but could find no remains of
anyone. They spotted the farmer plowing a field not too far away as if
nothing had happened. They hurried over to the man’s tractor. “Hank,”
the sheriff yelled, panting and out of breath.
“Did you see this
terrible accident happen?” “Yep. Sure did,” the farmer mumbled
unconcerned, cutting off the tractor’s engine. Do you realize that is
Air Force One, the airplane of the President of the United States?”
“Yep.” “Were there any survivors?” “Nope. They’s all kilt straight out,
“the farmer answered. “I done buried them all myself. Took me most of
the morning.” “President Obama is dead?” the sheriff asked. “Well,” the
farmer grumbled, restarting his tractor, “He kept a-saying he wasn’t,
but you know how bad he lies.”

How do you feel about Donald Trump?

I really like him. I think his problem is that he says what everyone wants to hear, but he doesn’t say it well. I love what he says, I have to admit. He can be president and not owe anybody anything; he’s one of the few people has the money to do it, and has the guts to do it. You’re biting off a lot by doing that. He believes everything he says: whether he’s right or not, he says what everybody fears. My older sons laugh at me when I tell them that. They are Democrats that live in California – there’s no hope for them. They’ll vote for Hillary no matter what she does. She’s a friend of mine, I’m not trashing her.

I don't even believe in free college tuition. Good quality primary education and then they are on their own.
I like Bernie though, if the job is largely symbolic he makes a warm fuzzy one. Hillary scares the fik outa me, her husband broke Glass Stegal, she is obviously a professional hustler
she's crooked, she's greedy and she's mean.

Mark twain.

When the filthy thieving republican president left office we were a disaster, record unemployment, bottomed out gdp and the world was laughing at us when they weren't spitting on us.

Now the economy is booming with an all time record gdp, the lowest unemployment rate in history and  you are all crying about what Obama has done to our country?

Under every single republican president since any of you were born the gross domestic product shriveled, and unemployment soared, under every single democrat president since before any of you were born unemployment dropped and the gdp went up.

How do you defend the republican presidents who diminish and destroy us, make us look like fools, how do you beg more ? People have such short memories.

Good point Kirk.

Politics as sports -- pick your team. Tribalism and team loyalty obscure facts.

Democrats leave much to be desired but, as the record shows, are far better for the working of society and economics than Republicans -- especially in their current, bat xit crazy mode. The larger problem is the corruption of the system by wealthy private interests who put their own short-term profits ahead of the public good.

And yeah, there is a lot of racism and bigotry out there that shallow opportunists capitalize on to promote themselves.

Right now there is more freedom in the USA and around the world than there ever has been.

There are better weapons and security systems and more access to them than ever before.

Less people are dying in battle around the world than ever in recorded history.

Today there are less people starving than ever in the history of mankind.

There is more access to water for fire fighting in the cities and it's even potable and piped into more homes throughout rural areas than ever before.

Less people are dying of disease and have more access to health care than in the history of our species on this planet, and great strides continue to be made.

If you make a meaningful effort, there is more access to information than there has been since mankind drew his first breath.

The per capita crime rate has fallen precipitously over a long period of time and even though you see upticks, experts say it will continue to fall.

The rivers and streams are cleaner than they were when I was a kid, and back then they were cleaner than when my parents were young.

These are powerful statements, I will stand by them and with them I can shred many false arguments, but I can't make anyone admit the truth.

I would have thought all the broken records for humanity would have been a call for celebration, or something.

I'm not saying president Obama is the architect of all these great strides, or the implementer.

Let me try this

many people have found themselves in need of a lawyer and no one seems to like them yet they always want the best

let's say you are going to federal court, whether to petition or to plea you will need a lawyer and you will want no mistakes, one mistake in federal court is too much

you will discover that many lawyers who are ready and able to speak in the lower courts find the federal arena too difficult and so do not practice in Federal court

if you needed representation in this federal court would you pick :

a. Trump

b. Clinton

Your president does a more complicated, nuanced and difficult job of representing you in federal court and in the world than your lawyer ever will, and the stakes are higher than just your case.

The defense rests.

Honestly, Clinton is rotten to the core, Trump is an idiot know-nothing carnival shill. We're fucked either way but while one is competent enough to give us some space while sinking the ship (and waging new wars) the other will crash us like a flaming train wreck. Plus he seems to be bringing violent fascist goons along with him which will make things much worse for all of us.

Hell, half his own party won't even endorse him, he's a racist, sexist , communist misogynist who would like nothing better than to add America to his shelf of gold plated ornaments, he's a loose cannon who thinks like the child like leader of Korea.

Trumps wife is an x communist apparatchik and an air head who reads only fashion magazines. Trump's son is being raised by communist in laws who speak no English and consequently his own son can barely speak English, and when chooses to, does so with a thick Russian accent. When Trump says he likes and respects Putin, that is not for shock value, Putin is practically a member of the family, widely loved and respected by his in-laws, and so is Kim jung il, a hero inTrump's eyes.

Would you buy a used car from this man?

Agreed. Hillary represents the Deep States (CIA, Wall St . . . ) Trump represents the creep state -- he's an ignorant thin-skinned sociopath feeding on egoism and pandering to a base of hateful creeps and bigoted religious fanatics.

As much as I detest Bill Mahr, this is worth watching.

The liberal navel staring has reached epic levels.

2 things,

in the debate Hillary answered the question about the supreme court wrong, a 12 year old knows a better answer than that, she said what she wanted out of it and she should have said only that she respects it, what she wants has nothing to do with what the supreme court does. I can smell the dog dander from her speech writers from here, they need some air, I picture haky saks, dred locks and chi tea stains.

Well after the election ended Rachel Maddow made a long speech about great America and how we rally behind the elected candidate after the election, set aside the vitriol of the election and move on, then immediately played a long video mashup of every nasty thing Trump ever said, disgusting, she is a spoiled little disgusting bitch with her head so far up her liberal ass she can see her own navel.

And don't get me started on Bill Mahr.

The liberal left better wake the fuck up, get their head out of their ass and start thinking about the things I am thinking about.

Long live President Trump, may all your (and my) insults to him be timely and accurate.

Imagine the fun with trolling that could have been had at the old FV with this.

I heard an asshole on NOLA radio this afternoon talking about how young female members in his family were distraught because Miley Cyrus (sp? who cares) "represents them".

Huh?  In what way does she represent them?  Argue for them before a judge or something?  Does he mean that they IDENTIFY with her?  If so, they have their eggs in the wrong basket.

Then the jackass, in response to a call from a Trump supporter, pointed out that Trump's wife had modeled underwear!

If I remember right, hasn't representative Pop Tart featured hard dick props on stage, grabbed her cooch on stage, etc. etc. ?

And then he pointed out to the caller that there is going to be much pain involved for the nation for the next four years.

No shit?  Apparently, he never heard of WWII.

I saw a movie yesterday with Paul Neuman as Rocky Graziano.

Apparently the boxer was offered military service as an alternative to prison.

"Are you serious?" said he.

"Yes", they said.  "So is Hitler".

Some disaffected utes defaced public monuments (Confederate, some of them) in New Orleans today.

Police chief says we don't need that shit, we're don't have enough people to catch the murderers, much less deal with that sort of thing.

Apparently they painted some slogans intended to implicate black people in the vandalism.

Some black citizens say, no way it was us, not our style.

Seems like Charlie Manson did something similar.  Real smart.

Probably Tulane students.  The tuition there probably rivals that of Harvard.

I see that some law students were relieved of the responsibility to take exams after the election because they were distraught and unable to function.

I bet they'll make fine lawyers.

I agree Kirk. The problem far greater than a Trump or a Clinton for our country is the partisan tribalism and animosity fed by media and by itself. It's bullshit. Differences of opinion on issues are a valid thing but we all have far more in common and could rationally work things out if not for the delusional thought constructs and hatreds fed to us to keep us distracted and at each others throats. I hate tribalism and am glad to have friends I disagree with. An interesting article on this here --

https://blogs.scient...ion-of-america/

The fact is that Trump got the electoral vote and is now President elect. It is disastrous  but Clinton would have been a disaster for different reasons. We can and must, as citizens, come together on issues to defend our real interests against the greedy insanity of empowered rentiers.

What also needs to be protested in the short term are the overt racist outbursts and actions of some Trump supporters  --

http://www.commondre...-trumps-america

This is a vital issue. Hate speech is incitement. Threats of violence and overt bigotry cannot be tolerated.

I ran over to smash them but they were driving off fast as people photographed them.

Black students in a school near here are being warned by white students that they will be hung, just like the old days.

I confess that I did not vote, having accepted for years the apparent fact that it doesn't much matter who gets elected.

Even when I did vote, it was almost always not for a candidate, but against the other candidate.  The lesser of two evils, as it were.

I realize that Trump is a roll of the dice - who the hell knows what he might do?

But Hillary was a known quantity, and what was known was not good.

I don't know much at all about Trump, but a recent documentary was encouraging.  His father was a real estate developer whose idea of a family outing on Sunday was to take the children to one of his construction sites and have them gather nails from the ground, so they wouldn't go to waste.  Donald was sent to military school, more or less punishment, but he excelled there.  Supposedly he was good enough at baseball to go pro.  He seems to rise to a challenge, and that's good.

Today I took a dog to the vet.  Vet suspects cancer.  Says the treatment involves people medicine, which used to cost her $50 a shot, but now it's $250!  Why, I asked.

Obamacare, said she.

And she looked like a Hillary supporter to me, but you never know.

Kirk, I enjoyed your hacky sack post at FV - that was my impression of the "protesters" as well.

On the other hand, the story about the Muslim (I guess) woman is troubling.  It's too bad that morons of all stripes are feeling empowered to display ugliness by the election results.

I was dead serious about WWII.  It's time for the country to bond in the same way, sacrifice in the same way, and get shit done for the benefit of all, or else, all are well and truly fucked.

I was thinking of something you wrote a long time ago about a Volvo full of dog hair and some farmers in a diner

and it stuck in my head.

I'd like to see Trump tackle the infrastructure in a big way, W.P.A. style.

Also Important to me are competitive health care and drug pricing and deescalation

of the drug war by way of legalizing marijuana on a federal level.

And if we are dreaming, escalation of autonomous car technology, before they take my keys away.

I agree about Clinton. We've been closer to nuclear war recently than since the Cuban missile crisis. Clinton and the neocons are insane and I hope to never hear her name again. What worries me about Trump is not his foreign policy but the creeps he brings with him from rentiers and crooks to the hate-group types. Also, climate is a BIG issue and we are at or past the tipping point. His denial and loyalty to coal and big oil are dangerous. Fortunately he isn't a dictator and has no magic wand. It will be difficult for him to do much damage -- far less difficult than it would have been for Clinton.

Glad weed was legalized in a few more states and some progressive populists were elected to Congress and local offices as well. All is not well but, neither is it hopeless.

The increasing liberation of cannabis is encouraging.  I voted for Carter on that issue alone, but of course nothing came of it.

Federal law still trumps state law, though.  Bush was inclined to enforce federal law, but at that time not enough states had loosened up to worry about it.  Obama was inclined to look the other way, as well he should.  Trump says he intends to enforce federal law.  Maybe he'll come around, though.  How many people even know that the original legal demonization of cannabis was driven by a bigot and was at heart racist?

I'm encouraged by the fact that Trump is giving Pence a big role, maybe a free hand, because I was mightily impressed by Pence after his debate, and have heard it said that if Pence had been the candidate, the election would have been over in his favor before it even got started.

I called my brother today to thank him for his military service, but the answering machine picked up, so I said I was Obama calling to do the same.  We both got a kick out of it.

I handled top secret crypto documents every day during my stint in the service.  If I had been found with one in my house or car (there were no personal computers then) I would have been out on my ass with a dishonorable discharge at minimum, and probably on my way to Leavenworth.  Just saying.

Now that we are past the election, it's ok to protest.

I have high hopes that the people who elected trump will hold his feet to the fire, they seem like the type, and I am counting on the people who voted against him to do the same, in spades.

How many people even know that the original legal demonization of cannabis was driven by a bigot and was at heart racist?.

I'm guessing that none of Ms. Clinton's advisers are boxing fans or they would have recognized Ali's rope-a-dope strategy from the Rumble in the Jungle.

Ali won the fight, at the cost of brain damage from the pounding Foreman gave him before wearing down and getting knocked the fuck out.

Anslinger - anti-cannabis bigot.  I couldn't remember the asshole's name when I made that post, but the Al Jazeera article has the facts.  I read about it in High Times, in the 70s.  Misguided bullshit from the getgo.

Saturday night, skimming the TV channels, saw what appeared to be Hillary Clinton playing piano and singing.  "Hallelujah" was on the screen - only reason I lingered on the channel - ony cuz it's a Cohen song - I thought it had something to do with him.  Mediocre version at best, then whoever the fuck she was, crying, said she was going to hang in there and I should too.  Turned out to be Saturday Night Live.  I haven't watched that since the 70s.  Normally they'd probably have some skit making fun of Donald Trump I guess, but they weren't laughing that night.   I couldn't be happier for cunts like that.

You might be surprised how well old goat sausages are able to stand up to the heat.
