I talked to Cheryl today and she says some of the Blues Cat (I'm not clear on whether it's some or all of it, but it has to do partly with the size of the bottling vessel) will be transferred into bottles this weekend, with the help of some volunteers including Julie from Catskill. I make it about eight months of aging by counting on my fingers. After bottling, it goes without delay to the vendors, the most immediate of which is obviously Catskill Cellars, because it's right there near Delaware Phoenix. There may not be any announcement at the DP website, because it's harder to update than Facebook. Cheryl may or may not drop in here to make a post herself; she's kinda busy.

If you don't know what Blues Cat is, you haven't been PTFA.

Catskill carries Pacifique, also.

They know good absinthe there.

Sold out everywhere or just Catskill Cellars?

I'm not a member at Facebroke but I was able to check it a couple of times this weekend - I recall a post by Cheryl listing all the stores that were to get some (all of them in New York). Don't know how many do mail order.

Awesome label, and I'll bet an awesome absinthe.

The back of the label is disturbing. It looks like some group of Bohemians out for a day's frolic, oblivious to insidious debauchery they're cooking up.

Used loin cloth with every bottle would be a hell of a promotion. And that Swiss guy thought he had something offering free aprons with a druid on them.

I have tried it finally. Whereas it seems to be an anise bomb, it has a lot of virtues. First of all, thanks to Kirk, pontica, melissa and hyssop really shine thru in the aroma. With the colouration, the fading is quick, but the colour I have been shown WAS al korekt. It is smooth, tails-free, and has a peculiarity hidden deep in the back. It is not another of those American sinthes (vide Ridge which is good but nothing above) but has a good foundation and well-accentuated herbaceousness.

It is a definite TexRec since the dilution required is just 1:2 and then the absinthe is perfect (shoulda say purrfect?). I have no idea why people complain about the inexistent funkiness, some overearthied notes. Nevertheless I am not its fan as much as I were of Walton Waters of 2009, but it is not a short-lived sensation.

That said, the louche is thick and builds in a really mesmerizing way and the whole libation is what was meant to be: a libation.

In the range, I have tried Blues Cat, Tenneyson, Heritage, Prototype 45 and BC was the ultimate winner.

Well done!
