Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me when the time is right to harvest pontica. I've got 16 plants in my front yard and they no longer don't seem to be getting any bigger. Should I wait for flowerbuts like when harvesting wormwood?

Thanks

I'm becoming more convinced
by the latitudinal theory of pontica blossoms:

All the positive reports of blooms
come from between a certain N-S band.

A fairly narrow band.
And yr prolly too far north.

If you don't see the flower buds now
yr not going to be a lucky winner.

Thanks. I'll go into the yard this weekend when it stops raining. Any last suggestions on how to harvest? Cutting height etc?

Don't harvest for 2 days after the rain.

If it rains, wait for 2 sunny days in a row. Harvest in the morning, when you can walk through the grass and you don't see any dew drops on your shoes. If you see the pontica is starting to die off at the bottom of the plant, harvest it. Don't worry about whether it flowers or not, an old text that mentions using it says that the product used is not in flower, or not flowering. In my experience, all types of artemisia start to die off from the bottom up, if you see it starting to do that, harvest it.
