COLOR BEFORE WATER 10/10
clear with bubble
LOUCHE ACTION 10/10
very nice bluish tinge of semi-opaque louche
COLOR AFTER WATER 10/10
very nice and fresh-looking
AROMA 26/30
neat sassafras is very evident together with verveine. Louched absinthe is herbal and floral, not spicy, delicate. Aroma is better neat and absinthe drunk without water is excellent as digestive substitute
MOUTH-FEEL 7/10
Is laced with coriander and more melissa notes, not cloying, both badiane and sugar are nowhere to be found
TASTE 19/20
it is difficult to find the right ratio. Without water it is really good already, 1:1 it is the best as absinthe, it has wormwood bitterness, sassafras aura and the marriage of melissa and verveine, the rest of the ingredients are well hidden and balanced
OVERALL IMPRESSION 8/10
If Rick from "Casablanca" had been selling absinthe in his bar, he would have been selling exactly that.
Boggy scores absinthe de Vichy 90 out of 100
I do not find its promotion to be wrong, either.
