It does go quick!!! Drunk.sml
Rimbaud
FELIX!!!!!!! It's realy good. Gettin' some Swizzle LB next, Pignon et L'Epee when it's ready (waiting sure hurts...)!
Masque
Just had a glass of Swizzle LB. Good stuff, though I did not add enough sugar to make the fruity flavor come out. It was very good though. I like the Felix, but the Swizzle is better. The Pignon, well, I have not had any since it was redone.
louchefabrik
Sittin' here as I be tippin' an' typin' and alternating 'tween Felix and Swizzle! Drunk.sml

Two of each---so far--- verdamnt, I have to be at the hospital in the AM.

can't wait for those samples... sometimes it's a good thing to taste what's being done outside of the village...

Hey! where's the hillbelly smiley ?!
Masque
Hey now, no need to get all regional on us now... :)
Fluffy G
Got my Swizzle Rouge a couple days ago. DAMN! It's some good shit. Makes me feel all floaty. I liked this one more than the Pignon. Still haven't tried the felix yet, but i think help is on the way.

The only down side to the Swizzle Rouge was that it had a certain bitter medicinal taste to it. It did make it interesting though, sorta different like Serpis is to absenta. Perhaps I just need to use more sugar. Oh yeah, and I LOVE the Swizzle label!

"The only down side to the Swizzle Rouge was that it had a certain bitter medicinal taste to it."

Sounds like it's right up my alley, now all I have to do is negotiate a bottle.
DGLeadbetter
I just know that when I get my first taste of HG ... it's all over for me.

DG
1888
Do you have anything on order anywhere, DG?
DGLeadbetter
Nope ... waiting for my sample of Moon that I won. After hearing y'all praise the stuff so highly, I might have break down and buy a bottle.

The thing that troubles me is hearing how much the batches differ. Some are awesome ... some ..., well not so awesome. I'd hate to kick down some big coin for a bottle of something that sucked. Perhaps ordering the small size to check it out would be wise, but then if I like it, It'll be gone before I can swoop in to buy a bottle.

I'd be willing to buy some small samples off you guys ... or trade for cuban or domincan cigars, my current absinthe supply is limited to Deva, Montana and Lasala.

What to do .... what to do .....

Any suggestions?

Just an idea for Mr. Felix...
CelticGent
a halloween costume?
1888
No, the fancy box...
CelticGent
right, i thought the Kubler box was a halloween costume for your Felix bottle.
Off. Jack Batemaster
That Felix bottle looks empty.
1888
There's maybe 2oz. left... but I took care of that little problem. yelclap.gif
CelticGent
How much for a refill?

The only down side to the Swizzle Rouge was that it had a certain bitter medicinal taste to it.

With the Swizzlé LB, I found that bitterness is gone if you dilute at 4.5:1. If you do 4:1 it still lingers a little bit. I'll suspect the bitterness is Gentiane. It's a damned difficult herb to control, but it adds a nice dimension to it if used in right quantities, and I think the quantity in Swizzle is just fine, you just gotta dilute it just right. (It really helps if you have a 100ml beaker, that's what I use to get the water ratios just right).

Yeah, that's a great idea. Ship it in a box that says "Absinthe" on it. Why didn't I think of that?
1888
No, the Kubler box is shipped flat inside another box.

The idea is that if you were giving away Absinthe as a gift (like we would) you would have a nice gift box...
CelticGent
well, Digit, isn't that very SWEET of you!!!

but you don't have to put in in a box for little old me!

Your right, the ratio makes quite a bit of difference with the rouge. Last night I used a 4:1 ratio with a big ole perruche sugar lump. It took care of most of that flavor.
Masque
With Swizzle, you need a lot of sugar.
Fluffy G
I just wish it came in a 1 liter bottle. yes1.gif
Masque
You're telling me! I am afraid to drink it, one glass takes so much from the bottle.

It's secondaries pack a pretty good puch for me. The only other HG I could compair that to would be Moonman's #16.
Zouave
I just finished my bottle of Swizzle Rouge last night. nopity.gif Fortunately, I'm still swimming in Felix. jarswim.gif This is great stuff...
Wolfgang
#16 was a looooong time ago.... you'r laging behind Mr.Fluff !
Fluffy G
Yes, but how many of the newer people around here got to try it. Now they can only dream about getting some. It's a rarity. As for the newer stuff? Well for me, that's what sample bottles are for. kimouss.gif
Wolfgang
I'll reply to that in the trade thread....
1888
SWIZZLE LB... scares me!

It's good... very, very good! And so now, I'm scared.

I had 2 glasses last night and I was terrified. To quote Robbie Robertson... "it gave me the shivers".

It made me trip BalzTM almost instantly!

No seriously though... I couldn't stop smelling it... what a terrific bouquet!

I didn't know whether I wanted to drink it or keep smelling it. I think the difference in this is what Robert Scorpio pointed out... that whatchumacallit herb.

Yeah, that one!

At 65% it's the strongest of Mr. Felix's products that I've had. (The Felix is 57, the Pignon et L'Epee is 62.)

I'm thinking I was way too tired last night and that's why it had the effect it did on me, but it was soooo smooth at 4:1.

The 375ml goes waaaaay too fast.

I can hear Mr. Felix saying: "Well, then for theeese raison, you buy it more, non?"
Félix
Yes, 375ml is too petite. Soon no more small bottles.

Felix is 60%. Pignon is 65%. I give more booze to friends at LoucheLounge. Less water.
lalouche
How does someone go about obtaining a bottle of Felix?
Is there a website I can go to?
Rimbaud

Off. Jack Batemaster
