I keep hearing rumors, and a lot of friends are completely convinced.

Still I won't believe it till I see it.

So, I'm making out with my girlfriend, and we hear a scraping noise on the roof, and she starts screaming bawling her eyes out, and I'm like, "It's OK honey, it's just Ned, and he's brought Jade- the only REAL Burnt™ absinthe!!!!"

Just then a shimmery green hook wrapped around a pontarlier-style glass of verte comes crashing through the driver's side window. The girlfriend realizes it's gonna be a long while before she's gonna make out with me again...

That's what I got when I signed up. Then I received another nug from the mailing service confirming that I was on the mailing list.

OK...so what's the deal with this alleged Jade- the only REAL Burnt™ absinthe? Have the good people of Belle Epoch found some loophole which would allow them to legally distill and distribute the bomb-diggity from within the U.S. of A.? I can understand their claims of an historically accurate Absinthe through painstaking R&D, but legal distribution?

Nah. If it ever does hit the market, it'll be manufactured and shipped from another country. Nobody's really counting on Jade- the only REAL Burnt™ absinthe coming out any time soon though, so don't hold yer breath...

Heard that. However, as someone from...ahem...somewhere else put it, "80 years versus 3 ain't such a long time to wait." If it really is rack-yer-cack scrump-delicious, I guess I can wait.

It's okay. We like Fee Verte. Most of us are members there as well. And yes, Jade- the only REAL Burnt™ absinthe really is that good. I've had the "Nouvelle Orleans" variety, and can vouch for it. However, there are some other HG's around that are on the same level. Stick around for a while, and you just might find out what I mean...

I have been around for a short while. When Jade- the only REAL Burnt™ absinthe was first announced, it was gonna revolutionize the absinthe world. The Un Emile's were barely out, Swiss la Bleu was king (at only $200/bottle!!!), and there were no shipments from the moon. There were not really other HG's around.

Fast foward two years, to now, and the absinthe world is different. Decent commercial is out there, and HG has never been this "available" before (irony intended).

Jade- the only REAL Burnt™ absinthe lost its first to market status, although it is a major bedtime story.

Is there a website or email addy for those of us (or maybe just me )
who hasn't (past tense, of course)

Well...OK, I AM lighting it ablaze, but only after I cover myself with a thick layer of the stuff. It's quite a spectacle, actually, since I wear a leather "gimp" mask, a bandolier strap filled with M-80s, and have a rabid badger stuffed down my pants. My "vertically challenged" associate, Stubbs, usually provides the incendiary device, however an incident with a hungry Silverback gorilla has left him...well...a bit more true to his name. I am currently looking for Stubbs' replacement.
