Full Version: Not-so-fresh feeling?

I had some friends over last night, and we put a serious hurtin' on a couple of newly-acquired CO bottles. I had 6 drinks total (3 Guy and 3 Lemercier AMER 72) from between 5–7:30, and surprisingly, after my secondaries went bye-bye, the high alcohol content flowing through my blood did not seem to make itself very apparent. In fact, by around 9:30, any semblance of an alcohol-specifc buzz was also gone.

To take a slight detour for a sec, I say "surprisingly" because last Thursday night, I consumed 4 drinks of the Lemercier within an hour & 1/2, experienced those deceptive, alcohol-masking secondaries, fell asleep, then woke up at about 1:00 in a pretty 'tardy state.

So, how does all this relate to feelin' fresh? I woke up this morning in a VERY refreshed state. I actually beat my alarm clock (not physically, for a change), which is completely atypical for me...especially on a Monday morning. Usually, a Sunday night of legal, high-proof alcohol consumption yields a "24-hour flu" phone call to Funky Bald-Ass Boss on Monday morning.

Now...let me make my nooby-ness more apparent: Is this "extremely refreshed morning after" pretty typical of Absinthe? I've felt it before, but not every time. Can anyone relate? Does anyone wanna fish.sml me? <-----(if so make sure it's Red Snapper)

Usually after that much absinthe I'm relaxed but chatty, lively, sometimes bordering on manic, and it takes me a very long time to get to sleep. That makes for a crappy morning after, and that's why I tend to save absinthe for the weekends now.

The sleep disruption is the problem, nothing else. Alcohol tends to be bad for your sleep patterns all by itself, just like caffeine, if you take it too close to bedtime.

I'm just slow the next morning.
And cranky.
But I'm always cranky in the mornings.

If I do two nights in a row, I'm much better the second morning.

hmmmm...interesting side-effects.
Especially the propensity to suicide and copious cheese-eating compulsions.

So far, I have not had any difficulties going to sleep. Perhaps it's due to the CO brands I'm consuming (P68, Guy, Amer 72 thus far). I dunno post-6-1069831687.gif

I also get weird (read: psycho), vivid dreams. That's OK, because I'm an artist, and my dreams tend to be...interesting anyway. It's when I wake up on the kitchen floor wearing a clown suit and clutching a meat cleaver that I become alarmed.

Could be worse. Could be a semi-permanent boot imprint.
CelticGent

If you start talking about the Cuff, I have to clarify:

You talking face cheeks, ass cheeks or both?
CelticGent
depends on which day it is.
Sponge Bob
Yeah, Thursdays at the Cuff can be hard on the ass cheeks.

Too bad we decided to go Sunday.
