It's a step ahead of the Un Emile Lablanche, but still quite far from an excellent quality LB.... it's pretty shallow and vague.

White Fairy sucks ass. Butty #2 rules!

I don't know about sucking ass (That's Jack's dept).
The white fairy has less of the fishy-alcohol bite of the UE LB, so it's "smoother", but it also lacks the fennel depth, and licorice profile of better suisse LB's. It's ok, but bland.
Keep in mind we're comparing an absinthe that costs 1/3 of butty's #2 (if you compare by alcohol % and volume).
YMMV

Has anyone had BW #3??????

I've had several LB's in the past, and usually found them tasty. The problem was they were all early in the development of my absinthe palate, so I do not trust my memories of "Wow" or "Super".
Recently I've had samples of #1 (thanks fluffy), a verte from Isuisse, and a fennel rich version from a secret source. My opinion-
The secret source fennel version is a creamy licorice treat. I'd drink it, or buy it, at any opportunity. It's that good.
The #1 was licorice rich, with a bit of fennel, but the profile was weak (ie. to bland and watery).
The Isuisse verte was a joke. I doubt it was even distilled absinthe. Blech!
How would I rank the more common LB's?
#1- The licorice-fennel bomb from the secret source.
#2- Butty's #1 / Kubler (it's a tie)
#3 - White Fairy
#4 - UE LB
#5- Versinthe LB

I was wondering if anyone knows a reliable source for Swiss La Bleues other than Butty. I would like to try some, but have read that her prices are outrageous, and that the quality of her products is inconsistent.

With regard to La Bleues, we all need to set limits in life. Mine is that if I pay over $200 for a bottle of non-vintage booze, it has to be hand-delivered by Anna Kournikova, naked. If she's not available, the deal's off.
There is probably a certain amount of tasty liquor out there which I'll never get to try, but standards are standards.

For $350 Butty will deliver your bottle naked. Gaze longingly at my avatar.

Thanks Crosby, but I think I'll pass on that one.
Here is another site I happened upon that offers the La Bleues. The prices still seem a bit high, but beat the hell out of Butty....if they aren't a complete rip off anyway.

The price for one bottle of Deva 70 from Alandia (including shipping) is $84.20. Serpis 65 is $99.26. Yes $100.00 dollars is a bit high, but not outrageously so. I'm not saying that either is worth the money, just that the price is not completely out of line with other venders.
As for Spirits Corner...this is the only place where I will order ANY Spanish absinthe. Their prices simply can't be beat; especially when using economy shipping. I don't mind the wait.
I specifically mentioned the above website because of their prices on the La Bleues...definitely beats Butty's $350, although admittedly still rather high.

If some vendor were to arrange her as the delivery person, I'd pay the difference between their regular rates and the aforementioned $200.

SUISS LA BLEUE: This one is extremely rare and hard to find. Even stronger than the Suisse Superior! 30mg/kg THUJONE!!!-this stuff has nothing to do w/the buzz from absinthe, NOTHING!!!!-this stuff has nothing to do w/the buzz from absinthe, NOTHING! & 70% alcohol!
$195.00 a bottle. For very serious collectors only. For more information and very interesting historical information go to the following site:
http://www.isuisse.com/veuve-bleue/ Yeah, it's hard to find. Because Isuisse ships their LB at around 52% alc, not 70%. Oh, and they won't ship to the US.

So is there a place to order a good La Bleue at a reasonable price? I've read many great reviews of Butty's #2, but would never spend $350.00. I've seen people allude to a better (cheaper) source, but have yet to come accross it.
Sadly, it seems that this site really is just another scam...which is why I posted it here. I wanted some feedback from some of the more experienced folks on this forum before I went any further with them.
Thanks for the feedback.

I think she
only charges$250, the $350 price is for when she personally delivers it in the nude.

I'd give her an extra $250 to keep her clothes on ... and another $100 if she puts a bag over her head.

King-I've had the #3. I like it but I don't like the price.
Molay-Are you currently living in Erie?
SPAZ-ASS- I actually preferred the UELB to the White Fairy (but my buds are messed up from cigarettes and chili peppers), and I like the HG's and the Swiss LB's I've had better.

I think I'll stick with the Moonman's LDL until this mysterious new bargain source steps forward. Thanks for all the info and advice everybody.
Also, I'll chip in on that $500 LL...I swear Butty sounds more like a crack dealer than an absinthe vender.
On a side note, I have a vintage bottle of Fougerolles I'll sell you for $200. It has been pre-louched at 3-1 for your convenience. This is the holy grail of absinthe, created with an ancient French recipe. The seal of the bottle has been broken during transit, but the contents have not been tampered with...well except for that whole pre-louched thing. Anyone interested should contact my domestic reseller...you know who.
