Staying in shape for the wkend.
I'll be off to the Brew Works to pick up
a shirt for Wogger soon. Couple Hoes
gonna get slapped down there.
TheGreenOne
LDL-1 for breakfast. Didn't seem to be much of an eye-opener. I wonder if adding coffee would have helped.
Kirk
All I can drink today is water.
Louched Liver
Genny #3.
Hoe slap downs coming soon.

Talked to 3 constituents so far today.
6 yesterday. Who's next?
Rimbaud
I'm home with nothin' to do.
Louched Liver
Jump the Bieber.
Let's close the Brew Works.

Actually, I'm lookin' for a job in the Village Voice classifieds at the moment. Slim pickins fer sure. Very depressing.
Raindog
The gin's kinda tasting like water tonight, very refreshing. Somebody finished my harp earlier... I think it was the dog.
DGLeadbetter
Just finished some LDL and a Don Carlos #3.

Thinking about some Segarra.....

DG
Raindog
Me too but I don't have any here so the JW black will have to do, not such a bad alternative... hammer to the floor.
DGLeadbetter
JWB ain't bad, my friend. Blue is better, but black ain't whack.

Had some homebrewed beer then some Rabbit Ridge '00 Zinfandel, very nice. Now slugging some homemade wine, needs to age for better balance but the buzz is the same..... Drunk.sml

Damn, Russian Wit,

I've never tried pepper from the Baltics, must have been damn nice.

Can't make it to Seattle and it seems just as well. Got my mother-in-law's funeral this weekend. (She kicked it on the ninth). Starting off the weekend with a little of the Lush Life (house brand) and thinking of the drunken mess of a good time some of us are having on the Left Coast. I look forward to the stories and pics. I suspect I'll drink a lot this weekend but I'll try to keep it under the brain dead limit. Maybe if one drinks too much but stops for the last few days of the month to keep it, say, at about 80 drinx, we won't kill our brains too soon. On the other hand, weeding out the weak cells could be beneficial and who the hell wants to be all that on top of xit anyway?!?

Oh well, I'll be going out f0or dinner shortly. One of the things I most like about absinthe is that I can be crawling drunk and pass for sober. Drunk.sml
DGLeadbetter
Sorry to hear about your grandmother .... that sucks.
I'll lift a glass in her honor tonight.

DG
Grey Boy
Dumbass Monkey, already drinkin' for the weekend?
It's his mother-in-law.

Sorry JP, I lost my Father-in-law last year, it's tough but mostly everyone pulls through OK. And the limit is 100, so you have some room to go over the 80 drink count.
Raindog
I'm not drinking tonight, well maybe a little*. I have to wake up early and go the wrong way on I-75 for a few hours, it should be an adventure with a couple-few eye openers.
Le Gimp
Sorry to hear about the MIL JP. I suspect I'll be dancing that dance in the next year or so. Time goes on.
Le Gimp
I've been drinking water so far tonight. Got the grandkids over. I'm still hoping to brew tomarrow, even though the Marris Otter malt did not come in. I've got 25# left in the last bag, and can sub 3# of MFB Pale Ale Malt to make up the rest.

Hoping to do a Barley Wine and a Ballentine XXX Pale Ale clone.

As soon as the kids go to bed, I'm grabbing a glass and some Sagera, Segara, Sigara, or whatever the spelling is.
Xu-Xu
Having a glass of ET #9 before heading off to bed.

Tastes so smooth after drinking Mr. Jeckyl Filterated Czeckerland Xit in Vegas
all last weekend.

It was a gift from a friend. A very mediocre German absinthe but perfect
for taking to Vegas and sharing with drunken friends who have never tried absinthe.

Especially my friends who insisted on swigging from the bottle.

Self-sterilizing swill, even without the fire.

She might as well let those that don't know better have it instead of wasting the good stuff on 'em.
DGLeadbetter
That's what I've found ... let them try the iffy stuff, then if they come back for more, move them on up a notch until they're ready for the good stuff.

Sad part is 90% of the folks I've turned on to Absinthe never buy their own ...

Freaking moochers.

Justin
You need to get them hooked, then sell them bottles of Deva for $100 and bottles of watered down booze of questionable origin for $200.

Oh, wait... somebody is already doing that.
jaded prol
Sounds like someone we know from Tucson!

Now that the family business is over, and in solidarity with the various festivities, I've been doing a little mini-festing myself. Started with fougerelles eyeopeners (I think it's the perfect variety to go with coffee), worked through some LeFee while cooking swordfish steaks on the grill (with hickory) and am now into the trusty cache of Lush Life, em31.gif Hopefully will make it another time and get to meet some of you in person. Nice summer-like day here! Good drinkin' weather.

A weekend of beer-drinking and then some more beer-drinking. Nothing interesting or particularly delicious, just lots of it.

Saved the more sophisticated drinking for sunday evening: Félix - something that rarely finds its way to my side of the Atlantic, but I had the opportunity to get a sample.

Damn, that was delicious. My first step towards HG whoredom.
DGLeadbetter
Tonight there will only be typin' ..... no tippin'.

I'm off to have some Sushi, and then post my blow-by-blow of the weekend.

more to follow .....

Yesterday's breakfast w/ the 3 stooges AB, Spongebob, Skeeter and DG was pretty nice. Started off w/ two liquid salads (bloody Marys) then an from the Land of Bogs coffee, wild turkey, and a pint of beer to wash it all down with. It was a perfect follow up for all the drinking at LFLC. ufo10.gif

Just got my bottle of L'mercier 72 AMER from Phil. Not bad at all. Not remarkable, but I'll buy it again. Seems to have a good anise/fennel ratio. The second fairies remain to be seen after one glass. Off to get another. Toodles!
G&C
I must say, I thought it was a much tastier drink than its blue label brother.
Le Gimp
Today was aonther typical day. Got home from work, fixed western omlete for dinner, went to wally land and got some lime for the garden. Limed the garden and tilled it again. Put some landscaping blocks at the end of the plot I'm preparing for herbs. Then headed for the garage to work on the bike.

I started with a glass of HG I received in the mail. Nice stuff. Interesting flavor that I think is Angilica Seeds. Real nice balance between the Fennel, anise and other herbs. Moderate secondaries, but I was working on the bike at the time and was really not paying close attention to the fairies. It was very refreshing to walk over to the sink where the glass was and take a sip every few minutes when I got frustrated with loose bolts, etc.

Tightened several loose bolts/nuts on the bike. Found two wires that were frayed from rubbing against the tire, and spliced them and covered them wtih shrink-o.

This after having to rebuild the generator Sunday after the brushed (or rathe one of them) went out. I'll ride it to work tomarrow come rain or shine (40% chance of rain).

Took a shower to get cleaned up from the grease.

Switched to 7Grain IPA (90IBU if you can believe that, close to Arrogant Bastard). Got tired of it and switched to Belgian Black Ale.

Just another night.
DGLeadbetter
No drinking again today .... it's work, a meeting tonight and then pack up and head out to Laughlin for Bike Week.

I'm beat.

Forgot I had friends in town this weekend. Yesterday was my only day to see them. I thought we'd go out and have a nice dinner.

As much as I try to justify it, I don't think 4 cheese sticks, 6 pints and a car bomb qualify as dinner.

To make matters worse, I actually had a dream in which I was drunk and I was just pouring myself a giant gin and tonic when my alarm went off this morning.

I think I'm going to crawl under my desk and go to sleep now.
Justin
Abby,

That dream isn't bad. Tomorrow I go to the hospital with my wife for little Rupert's birth. I'll be there for like 3-4 days.

In my dream, I was using a portable IV bag on a rolling cart to drip water into my celebratory absinthe. With the precision of the medical pump regulating the water, I got the ratio absolutely fucking perfect.

I must be screwed in the head. But when I woke from the dream, I could practically taste how good the drink was, and that sorta scares me.
DGLeadbetter
I weep for your child.

I predict "Wet, slimey and caesarian".
CelticGent
can you save me some caesarian dressing for my salad?
Justin
Thanks for the well wishes folks.

(And CG, you're right. Abby is one of few people that could say that and have it sound okay.)
Le Gimp
Best wishes to the Misses, and you and Rupert as well.
Louchelooker
Tell the little one not to get too low on his altimeter before pulling the ripcord. That's 'prolly the best advice anybody can get. Good luck Justin and Mrs. Justin.

Sketch.

Beer tonight.

Chutehead, where are the pix of the delivery?

Hope everything went well and you named him Rupert.

Measured out the remaining HG,and I'm down to 400ml, excluding a few samples from others and the hold back for the mayor. As soon as I get back from Nasheville I'll get his shipped out.

I have got to go beat up on J. Bodine and see if I can light a fire under his ass to make another batch of Nutchattel.

Sunday night I had a bottle of 1 year-old barleywine courtesy of one of GB -- Very unusual, to say the least, but by the end of the bottle I got to liking it alot! Very malty with 3 distinct flavors with each drink, all the way to the end. KUDOS and it was a nice end to a wonderful week and a truly wonderful weekend!
The clanks continued monday, with an unfortunate 18 hour workday yesterday followed by a 1/2 day and a much needed nap this afternoon.

Tonight a glass of GB's 3 year-old barleywine!! Much smoother, with the flavors a lot lighter, and blending together from start to finish. These were my first two barleywines and I will be searching for more from here on out!! Great Work!!! 3 years? Dammit, that's a long time for booze to be hanging around. If I made wine it'd be gone WAY before it tasted like wine! Of course, followed the main course with NS55 and we'll see what's in the cabinet next.
