Holy shit! When are they doing that? I thought they were just doing the extended DVD and that was it. I thought the extra stuff added to the Fellowship was great, so I'd love to see what they did w/ 2 Towers.

AFAIK the cut scenes replaced are the same as on the DVDs -- though the extended The Two Towers is meant to hit the streets here om my birthday (Nov 18).

Wonder if they'll do the same for The Return of the King -- it's rumoured to be
uncommercially long in even its "normal"cinematic version.

Can anyone confirm the rumor that some theaters will be showing all three back to back to back?

I just found out if you live anywhere near NYC, in early January Peter Jackson and the cast are doing a Q&A at Lincoln Center after a back to back screening of all 3 films. The tickets for this are next to impossible to get, but I'm workin on it...

After doing much research, I found that most of the marathon tickets are sold out and some are selling on EBay for upwards of $400 each.

I'm not sure any three movies together are worth $400 ....

I'm going to wait for the director's cut ... maybe the extra footage will be worth the price.

Naah --

I'm getting the two extended DVDs, and thinking about organising a session at the office (on 4m screen) with those two back to back followed by a dash to the theatre.
