I tend to like the verte, myself. The blanche seem like they would be harder to get right, as no coloration step that could potentially hide any imperfections, and they are good, just like the verte's better.

I like mine green. But that may change as a try more blanches.

There are some individual blanches that I've really enjoyed, but a verte just seems to be more what absinthe is really about. I'd rather have a good blanche than a crappy verte, though.

Oh, I am not talking quality, just overall. I have had some good blanches, and one of the best was red. NOT SERPIS.

I generally prefer a verte, but I'll drink either type if they are well crafted.

Verte! Haven´t tasted really excellent commercial blanche, yet! Maybe Foublanche next month?

'sall good but the verte seems more traditional. As long as the quality is high it makes little difference - variety is the spice of life.

To me it is more taste, Not color.

My favorite right now is a blanche my second fav is verte. They are two different dogs and taste nothing like the other.

Yes. The poll represents the base absinthe, whether it be colored or not.

That is technically correct. No slap required. Although, and here I am walking into unknown territory, I think that there are/can be different recipes involved.

Paradoxically, the best Verte absinthe I had was made by someone who prefers blanche...and I've got much, much more Blanche than Verte.

Perhaps it's just me craving for Verte -- I have much more Blanche than Verte at home for the moment.

On the other hand, on those warm spring evenings in the garden, my heart goes to Blanche.
