I just wanted to say hello as this is my first post. I am not new to the board as I have been reading it for quite some time but I normally don't post on message boards, I just read them.

I just wanted to say thanks for the information that you all have provided and for many laughs... (I'm sure I'll have many more as I continue to read... ^_^)

Thanks again,

-Travis...

Hi!
G&C
Hi Travis,
I read more than post also.
Masque
It's all good. I lurked at Feeverte for months. You should chat with Fluffy G... he is an anime fan as well.

Welcome.

Sorry, I know nothing about anime.
Nolamour
NINJA SCROLL!!!!! - None other...

Oh, Hi Animatravis.
DaRabbit
Howdy.

I know anime. Ninja scroll? BAH!

Hellsing all the way, baby.
Nolamour
Hellsing - An anime about vampires. oooooh

Ninja Scroll - A Manga classic set in feudal Japan around the 16th century after the Toyotomi shogunate had been toppled.
* Superior animation and graphics, great fight sequences, and an excellent storyline.

But what do I know...Maybe I need a third eye to see the light.
Nepenthes
Welcome.

There seem to be several Travis's in these parts that are anime fans. You from the Midwest?

Lupin the third rocks! He also has his origins in pre-ban France!

I'm still lurking.

For some, it is more a way of life than a posting style.

Hi there wave.gif

and i'm not sorry that i care nothing about anime.
AnimePimp
Thanks for the warm welcome all... ^_^

I live in Baltimore and as far as anime goes I would say my favorite series would have to be Beserk and my favorite film would be Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind... ^_^

Ninja Scroll was great (The movie, not the TV series) but Hellsing really lacked an ending... That's just my oppinion though... ^_^ The Lupin film Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro, which like Nausicaa was directed by Oscar winner Hayao Miyazaki, is a CLASSIC!!!

Thanks again for the warm welcome... ^_^

Me either. Go over to the Cinema cafe. There is an entire thread devoted to the stuff over there.

Oh and welcome. ufo10.gif
TheGreenOne
ce qui est anime?
Justin
I have no idea what "anime" is, but it sounds an awful lot like enema, which I try to avoid.
sancho
i'm beginning to see why some of the boys don't like you much...
CelticGent
well, a lot of it does involve monsters (like cthulu-type geek shite) shoving things up people's asses.

so i guess you could draw a link there.
DaRabbit
Anime am Jap cartoons.

They make em like regular movies over there, so while there is some Lovecraftian-octopus porn, there are also straight up romances, dramas and blah de blah.

How bout them Venus Wars? The subtitled version (for the love of god do not watch the dubbed one) freakin rules, man.
Rimbaud
Hello, newbie! I don't care for anime either. And, like CG, I'm not sorry...
Le Gimp
Hiya APimp.

welcome to the fray.
Louched Liver
Anime, shmanime.

As a few folks have mentioned in the past, Grave of the Fireflies is, hands down, the saddest and most moving film I have ever seen.
perruche_verte
I don't "get" anime, and I'm comfortable with that. I have plenty of social and cultural diversions to occupy my waking hours. I am developing a sincere if uneducated taste for Japanese food, but a lot of the culture remains incomprehensible to me.
Justin

If you substitute booze for food, that is how a lot of people feel about the French.

you read my mind.

Well, you can't really be busted for "quoting" the post above you....
Absinthe_1900
You should see some of the things for sale in Japanese vending machines.

Truly Bizarre!!
This vending machine has truly bizarre contents... 'used' schoolgirl panties! We had heard that such machines existed but had never seen them. A colleague came across this machine in suburban Tokyo just recently (May 2002). This particular machine is a converted cigarette machine that now takes 10,000 yen notes (about US$80 bills). The current contents run from 1000 to 3000 yen.
Louchelooker
A 'used' schoolgirl panty dispensing machine. I've always wanted one of those for the foyer.
Louched Liver
I prefer to harvest @ the source.
Off. Jack Batemaster
Yeah, but you must be all out by now. The last time you harvested was in 1952.
Louched Liver
Your mom was hot.

That may have been true, but she was only 2 years old back then. Sick bastard!
Absomphe
1952?

Hell, Louchie could almost be my Daddy...in South America, somewhere, where they pop 'em out REALLY young!
verbal_kraze
Yes Ninja Scroll, is hands down my favorite anime, but there are many other favorites. To tell you the truth I'm more into Hentai, but what do I know I'm just Filthy Fucking Swedish Pervert. La blue Girl, Venus 5, Wordsworth, The Overfiend Series, Cool Devices, Twin Angels, Etc. Those are my favs.

Anyway Welcome
Hiram

Now that would make more sense. wink.gif
Louched Liver
Since when does anything here?
Justin
When we're drunk.
G&C
Indeed,
and only then.
A.B. Normal
I guess I need another drink.

Oh, and by the way, speaking of mothers, I feel the need to share because I've been cracking up all day over this.

My mother saw photos from LCLF and she had the following comments which I would like to pass on:

Dinky's cute but he looks like trouble.

Cros is a hottie. I believe her exact words were, "Hubba Hubba!"
DrinkSlinger
In responce to Mom...

Yup' and Yup'
Masque
I tried to show my wife, and she said "Stop, I am watching TV.' Sigh.
Louched Liver
And that's when you backhanded her.
Masque
Well, no.
