Hellsing - An anime about vampires. oooooh
Ninja Scroll - A Manga classic set in feudal Japan around the 16th century after the Toyotomi shogunate had been toppled.
* Superior animation and graphics, great fight sequences, and an excellent storyline.
But what do I know...Maybe I need a third eye to see the light.

Welcome.
There seem to be several Travis's in these parts that are anime fans. You from the Midwest?
Lupin the third rocks! He also has his origins in pre-ban France!

Thanks for the warm welcome all... ^_^
I live in Baltimore and as far as anime goes I would say my favorite series would have to be
Beserk and my favorite film would be
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind... ^_^
Ninja Scroll was great (The movie, not the TV series) but
Hellsing really lacked an ending... That's just my oppinion though... ^_^ The Lupin film
Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro, which like
Nausicaa was directed by Oscar winner Hayao Miyazaki, is a CLASSIC!!!
Thanks again for the warm welcome... ^_^

I have no idea what "anime" is, but it sounds an awful lot like enema, which I try to avoid.

well, a lot of it does involve monsters (like cthulu-type geek shite) shoving things up people's asses.
so i guess you could draw a link there.

Anime am Jap cartoons.
They make em like regular movies over there, so while there is some Lovecraftian-octopus porn, there are also straight up romances, dramas and blah de blah.
How bout them Venus Wars? The subtitled version (for the love of god do not watch the dubbed one) freakin rules, man.

I don't "get" anime, and I'm comfortable with that. I have plenty of social and cultural diversions to occupy my waking hours. I am developing a sincere if uneducated taste for Japanese food, but a lot of the culture remains incomprehensible to me.

If you substitute booze for food, that is how a lot of people feel about the French.

You should see some of the things for sale in Japanese vending machines.
Truly Bizarre!!
This vending machine has truly bizarre contents... 'used' schoolgirl panties! We had heard that such machines existed but had never seen them. A colleague came across this machine in suburban Tokyo just recently (May 2002). This particular machine is a converted cigarette machine that now takes 10,000 yen notes (about US$80 bills). The current contents run from 1000 to 3000 yen.

Anyway Welcome

Oh, and by the way, speaking of mothers, I feel the need to share because I've been cracking up all day over this.
My mother saw photos from LCLF and she had the following comments which I would like to pass on:
Dinky's cute but he looks like trouble.
Cros is a hottie. I believe her exact words were, "Hubba Hubba!"
