I am aware of a person claiming to have been incarcerated for what that person claims was an absinthe related crime, however the truth is that this person was imprisoned for a totally different crime than what that person is claiming.

If a person were jailed for operating an illegal still, it would be a matter of public record and one should be able to get a copy of the charges from the Courthouse (federal? or State? Both could have pressed charges depending on the state.) They charge something like $3.25 for an offical copy locally.
