it's not the original recipe due to regional restraint upon the availability of the ingredients i usually use... but this is a pretty close proximity to what those who've had it before have come to know and lovingly dread.
many thanks to traineraz for his contributions!
this xit is going to seriously kick our asses at Louchefiesta tomorrow night!

It's definitely the greenest bread pudding I've ever seen.
"Absinthe Bread Pudding"? So does the absinthe go in the pudding, or replace the Bourbon in the whisky sauce, or both? This is starting to sound good - in spite of its startling appearance.

What's that stuff that makes your piss turn blue?
Methyline something.
yeah, i throw in green coloring for kicks. the absinthe louches with the other liquids when mixing so it would otherwise just look like normal bread pudding.... needs some sort of warning, eh? the absinthe is IN the pudding... my brother called it a high-class version of jello shots.
had a small piece before bed last night... this batch has some serious kick! strongest it's been made yet.

I nromally make bread pudding with raisen bread. Toast about 6 or 8 slices and tear them into small peices. Dab with butter. mix 6 eggs, three cups of milk, a tsp of vanilla flavoring, and a half cup of sugar and pour over the bread. Dust with nutmeg and bake at 350 with the pan of pudding setting in a pan of hot water. It takes about an hour to cook.
So, what's the difference between this and ABP? HOw much Absinthe? Substitute for part of the milk?

Absinthe bread pudding is not PEOPLE!!!, people, its POISON!!!.
At least that's how absinthe is described in a review the new Dracula movie in the Charlotte Observer.
"Bizarrely, the movie also seems to be a long homage to Baz Luhrmann's 'Moulin Rouge.' ...characters constantly drink absinthe, the poisonous liquor of choice in Luhrmann's movie. Maybe I should have put myself in a more receptive mood by tippling beforehand, too. After all, absinthe makes the heart grow fonder."

I've had Brainwash and it made my xit flourescent green, but didn't turn my piss blue.
However I have eaten brownies made with Methylene Blue, and that did turn my piss green! It was a bit of a give-away, though, when everybody's teeth turned bright blue after the first bite. Fun though, although it can rarely cause renal failure.
