Forgive me if this subject has been posted before, but it isn't one I've seen an actual thread devoted to.

What absinthe:water ratio is your favorite?

Some sources say 5 to 1, but I find that way too dilute.

I'm more of a "somewhere between 2 and 3 to 1 diluter - still feels like I'm drinking booze then.

How do you all measure it? Just eyeball it in the glass? anyone go more precise?

What's your technique?
CelticGent
depends hugely on the brand/kind.
Justin
What CG said.

For example:

If it is Czeckerland, dilute it about 100:1 down the sink.

Others depend on taste. Until you know a particular bottle, you pour it a little strong, then add water until you like it. Then remember ballpark how much you put in for the next time. It varies. Regular Segarra, about 2:1. Most other commercial, about 3:1. Most HG I've tried, about 3:1 to 4:1.

Also, the more you drink, the less precise it gets, and for me, that isn't very precise to start with.

Eye openers - One shot to one cup.
All else depends on the herbal content. I start tasting it at 2:1 and stop when I like it.

This usually ends up between 3:1 and 4:1. I've seen a few batches that went 5:1 and were still pleasant.

For HG, about 3.5-1 but, as everyone has said, it depends on both the specific absinthe and personal taste.

Straight down the sink works fine for me.

If you don't add the water, the xit will eat away your pipes.

Absomphe
At a 2:1 ratio, the Czeckerland stuff makes a fine, safe drain cleaner.

Drano's cheaper, though.
TheGreenOne
But can you burn a sugar cube soaked in drano?
Absomphe
No, damnit!!!
Sponge Bob
Here's what you do, soak the sugar cube in Draino.
Place the Draino saturated sugar cube on the head of your dick.

It will burn. It will burn like hell.
