It's like this: some of our near and dear can't make it on the 30th. My office is also moving that weekend, so there is a good chance I'll be tied up too.

So, there is only one logical thing to do:

With some of the attendees not able to make the 30th Id like to get a headcount and decide if we should postpone it.

I cant make the 5th, Ill be in Annapolis myself.

Maybe we should just suffer the next day and make it a week night between the 30th and the 5th?

My problem is that it's really only the first few days of my trip that I have free. After that I'll be knee-deep in family guilt and I'll never escape from the boonies.

Lemme check with the family on the schedule of events. It's been over three years since I've been back so there's quite a line-up.

If you change the date to late June, it might give some people time to send out samples (like some Fou or Amer.)

I'd like to find a time, if possible when the entire DC crew can meet with Abby. Failing that maybe we should have a couple of smaller ones over the next few weeks.

How about you CALF'ers meet in late June. And then you can get some samples as Jack suggested.

For anyone who isn't too busy between the 30th and the 2nd, we'll work on low key dinners and drinks or something like that. And I'll see if I can rustle up any goodies to bring. It'll be just like Christmas. Only hot and humid. And with absinthe.

I don't know when the whole crew could assemble, as fun as it would be.... That is why I made the suggestion for a split between the two weekends.

However we do it, we have to make something work. I won't take "no" for an answer.

I'll just randomly show up drunk on each of your doorsteps in the middle of the night.

I'll knock. You'll answer. We'll have a drink. Then I'll hand you a box of Wheat Thins, punch you in the left eye, snap your photo, leave you with a thank you sample bottle of something and move onto the next house.

A little unorthodox, but okay, I guess.

Upon your unsolicited punch to my eye, hope my wife doesn't smack you one on my behalf.

Just make sure she's aware to aim for my left eye.

Late June could work. If I can't make it I could send a little something. Hopefully I could bring it myself.

I think we should just move it to November 1, and have it at my house instead.

Tucson's not far from DC.

How about we move it to July 17th and all meet in Allentown?

Cuz July 17 is hot, and Allentown sucks. There's a scarecrow there who wants to do me but knows I'd vomit too much for it to be fun for him.

To clear things up, as there seems to have been some confusion:

I’m just too damn busy. But I will not pass up the opportunity to meet Abby when she’s uncharacteristically in town. So I can meet Wednesday night, June 2nd, after work at the place that Green suggested for a few drinks and some mellow hanging out time.

That’s all I can do, but I can definitely do that. In fact, that’s what I’m doing. With or without you fools. So do that too, if’n you can. If’n you can’t, get together another time too.
