That is a rare label, below is a response direct from Legendre.
Marion Legendre originally called the product Legendre Absinthe. The bureau controlling alcohol at the time objected to the use of the word ABSINTHE, so Mr. Legendre changed the name to Legendre Herbsaint. The Legendre Absinthe label was used for a very short time. To our knowledge, there was never any absinthe in the product.
Now if I could just find an unopened case.............

I'm making an American absinthe spoon.
American Indian that is.
South American.

I have hundreds of them ,
from years past.
There is a lot of ancient debris around here.

I'm no expert on native american weaponry, but it appears that you have at least 3 different arrowheads made from 3 radically different stone.
Seems odd for a small area.
Are you plowing on the site of a 3 tribe battle?

Or maybe they're from several different temporal levels.
Kirk-
You should consider calling your local university's anthro department and leaving any other finds in situ.

Jun 10 2004, 09:35 AM
Yeah, I thought of that... but that would be rare no?
Kirk. If you start unearthing bones. DON'T TELL ANYONE. They'll move right in, kick you out, tear up the property, claim it as an ancient burial ground, and then put in a casino.

Actually, if you find human remains, call me.
I won't throw you out.
I'll just camp out in your yard for a while.
I might build a casino when I'm done, but it'll be small and tasteful.

The one on the right is late archaic. (5000 B.P to 3000 B.P.)
The others are all early woodland (3000B>P> to 2100 B.P.)
I have also found Early archaic and paleo lithic, (14000 BP to 7000)) I live in an area
where the Mammoth Hunters used to roam.
Excluding the paleo stuff these are common to find almost everywhere in the US.
The material that was used to make these lithic points was as varied as the rocks in the Field.
Here is some that my kids set as pendants:

A little mini that arrived the other day.
Looks like the same color as Peychauds, and since Sazerac bought Legendre in 1940, I'd guess they are the same contents.

It will fit a bigger glass than the last grille I made.
It lays face up instead of down like the other one.

I remade the Greenman grille also ,
the horns and stem are longer to fit a larger glass
also the horns spiral the opposite direction
unlike the first.
The first ones will not be made again.

The sugar cube rests in the mouth of this one ,
you pour the water in his mouth.
The first one , the water poured from his mouth , nose and eyes.
This one is larger and heavier.

Thanks Dink, but
I hope to only make a few , I'd rather die than be a commercial success,
When I'm dead I'll be able to take the pressure.
There are 11 of the first grilles
there will never be more
those of you that have one
are the only ones that will ever have one .
Any future grilles similar to those are about an inch longer and as I described.
there won't be more than a few made.
You're on my list.

I won't have a grille to use , so I'm off to the post office and then back to the factory.

Sign me up for one of those grilles. I can trade decent booze for one, if you would so desire.
