It says I'm a new member here so I thought it would be appropriate to stop by and say hello to some old friends and new ones.

I know some of you may know a thing or two about me but I'd appreciate it if it were simply kept under wraps and left alone.

Apologies passed to any unkept promises if there were any.

Also, I'd like to just tip my hat to the mods here- there are mods here, right?!

Anyway, there are a lot of strange names here and I just didn't feel like creating yet another 'forum board name' so what you see here is all there is. My name is David, my avatar is me and I'm not here to be an asshole or to xit on people.

I like coming here to drop in a thought or two and then I'll usually get back to my normal life routine which keeps me plenty busy!

Things I like to drink are the following:

Beer- Fin du Monde, Guinness, Yeungling, Boddingtons

Scotch- Lagavulin, Dalwhinnie, Laphroaig

Bourbon- Makers Mark, Knob Creek

Others- Chartreuse, Lillet, Dubonnet and Strega

Absinthe- LDF stuff, Segarra, Kubler - a couple specific HG's

I also like to mix drinks every now and then - Whiskey, Gin and Vodka are favorites to use.

OK... so that's the alcohol stuff.

Some personal thoughts.

Absinthe pretty much scared the xit out of me mainly because of how it consumes ones life. Don't get me wrong, I still love it as a drink but you won't find me here typing away while throwing back drink after drink after drink of that stuff. It really does mess with your life. I'm much happier enjoying a couple of glasses every other week instead of 3-6 glasses a night. Finally my bank account is breathing a little easier as well now.

That's the same with all the booze. I sure do enjoy it but I really don't need it all the time as I once thought I did. Of course I go through moments, but who doesn't?

So I feel that for the first time in years, I really have a pretty good handle on things... I just hope I'm not eating these words in a few months or years. The key is to always try to stay on top.

This place is a great little place to come and toss out junk for the sake of creating conversations and that's the cool thing about forums. I'm not interested in coming to a place where a rampant masquerade is allowing for xit to fly all around. I think ABG was what that was for if I'm not mistaken and I know that what I just typed is ironic. It's just that this place is changing. People change. People come and go and who knows what the next wave of Absinthe-minded revelers may bring.

The things that really piss me off these days are really simple and I'll keep them in the Political Hole...

I'll tell you right from the start that I guess I'm labeled as a Liberal or rather one of 'those liberals' but you know what... I don't give a xit about labels because there are things that I just don't agree with that would pretty much skew that whole perspective or what's a liberal and what's a conservative.

Enough of that.

I'm looking forward to posting some stupid things here and maybe some insightful things as well and maybe even nudging a few lost souls who stumble by these parts.
