Timesheets, charge codes...I'm a fuckin' graphic designer fer chrissakes! I'm s'posed to worry about color and logos and typography and other artsey fartsey xit like that...not fuckin' TPS Reports!

Get a load of this fuckin' charge code I have to enter into my timesheet:

342X.00X.00X.00X.00X.00X (25-59-11)

*some numbers have been changed to protect the guilty.

Christ, I need a drink!
Nolamour
Satan's Pussy,

I've been a Graphic and Web Designer for a few years now...Aint never seen no timecards, numbers, or TPS, like that.

Do what I did...Start your own business. Then your charge codes can be:

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ - directly into your account...Unfortunately, the IRS has something to say about it at the end of the year. bastards.
Glassolalia
Ohferthaluvagawd - quit yer bitchin!!!!!!

I had a large hand in mapping the human genome - and I STILL have to turn in a weekly time sheet. That is IF I want to get paid.
atomicvibe
Timesheets aren't necessarily the issue.

It's having to enter a charge code that looks more like an Auchwitz identification number that really gets me.
Absinthe_1900
It doesn't matter what codes I enter, the management / business office people screw with the client on the charges, no matter what I do. fish.sml
Louched Liver
I punch in.
I punch out.
I'm broke.
atomicvibe
And if yer lucky, ya get a punch to the eye or crotch.
Louched Liver
That's a given.
I'm the template for such behavior.
atomicvibe
Being a noob, I still don't get the whole blackeye thing. Enlighten me?
CelticGent
take a step closer.

Ah, sank you velly much!

Evil Corporate Celera side, or Noble Public Effort side DG.gif?

Ah -- timesheets? Let me guess...

I also have to fill in timesheets. Which doesn't mean I do. I conveniently lost my password to my account for filling them in some time ago.

It didn't allow me to cast off the timesheet burden, but at least my small contribution to the development of some dapivirines got me a cool screen background (with my own personal dapivirine variant, which is apparently still in the top-10 with respect to activity) and a bottle of champagne from a customer ;).
atomicvibe
uh...what?
sixela
Just trying to impress Pooka -- move along.

Unless you have trouble with a certain nasty retrovirus.
atomicvibe
Are you impressed, Pooka?
sixela
I said I was *trying* to impress Pooka.

I usually fail miserably (at least unless I'm trying to make an unfavourable impression -- I'm really good at that).
atomicvibe
Do ya do any "Jack Nicholson meeting Christian Slater at an S & M club" impressions?

That would be pretty unfavorable.

Nevermind Pooka - you just impressed the hell out of ME!!!!

Let's just say that I have never had anything to do with Ventnor.....

(I'm VERY noble)

I should hope to make unfavourable impressions only, of course, being an elitist bastard (not in the absinthe world -- in Real Life).

The snooty "u" was omitted on porpoise.

It is the whole European/American thing. Six thinks anything from America is second class, except for Felix and Swizzle'.

uh...what?

[Ah? You want me to *explain* this? I simply cannot resist]

Oh -- I'm sorry you can't see one of the methyl groups, but from the angle of the benzene ring with respect to the rest, you should be able to figure out the occluded parts given any decent software package (especially if you caught the fluorine that's almost, but not quite completely, occluded).

All the other colours are:

Carbon: Dark Grey
Hydrogen: White
Nitrogen: Blue
Oxygen: Red
Bromine: Brown (actually, those were a bit fanciful, but they did win me a bottle of champagne).
Fluorine: Purple

Not at all -- after all, I *am* working for a US company.

I'm not exactly envious of the USA brand of politics, legal system, medical insurance system and social security, but that doesn't mean I loathe all things from the USA.

It's just that I like to cultivate my idiosyncracies, and on this forum, dominated as it is by USA inhabitants, British spelling is one.

And you're insulting Nemesinthe and ADN, too -- pistols at dawn?
Pooka
Oh, silly Sixer, you have a long track record of impressing me without trying at all.

Feh.

Oh yeah...

Because you're a real plebian in here, Sixer. blink.gif
Pooka
Of course he's pedestrian. He can't fly.
sixela
I'm not a proper Elitist Bastard here or at feeverte, no. I simply lack the credentials.
Pooka
That's OK. Nobody here is proper.

Actually, some penguins are really abdomentrians at heart, if you ever watched them.
Pooka
Pseudogastropodia?
sixela
No feet required.

Come to mention it, I have quite a nice collection of marine gasteropodia shells.

[I think I mentioned Epitonium Scalare in another thread a long time ago -- ah, how time passes...A Conus Gloriamaris is now less expensive than a bottle of absinthe these days]

Well, that'll teach anyone not to include "WTF, man?" in the title of a thread.

It's just too tempting...
atomicvibe
Six:

I was only there long enough to...appreaciate...that thread.

Dammit...I'm all out of Kleenex!

Gee, I guess I wasn't there long enough.

Bad ass! When I grow up, I wanna be Glassy.

For a nominal fee - you *can* be!!!

Along with my exciting life (robotics by day, artist by night), you will also have to deal with menopause, a very grumpy Grey Boy, 2 psychotics cats, a whopping debt, and a very glam wardrobe (feather boas, marabou mules, black lace everything, leopard print anything, and lots of glitter).

If you can deal with these things - then I think we can cut a deal.

I would never insult Nemesinthe, nor ADN.

I thought your kind (take that as you will wub.gif ) was not allowed pistols, so unless you have military service background, I would probably kill you. Lets have a drink instead. kimouss.gif

you bastard.
Pooka
Actually, Glassy, that all sounds very tempting. Nonetheless, I think I'll stick with being Pooka. It's not particularly glamorous, but it has its perks.
Grey Boy
It was the grumpy me that put you off, right?
Pooka
Naw, I've seen you respond to even the most venomous and irritating trollery with the Grey Boy house brand of disdainful aloofness. The cat's a fitting emblem, it seems. I'll bet you aren't so bad when you're grumpy.

Besides, I'm chronically cranky, myself.
