Alcohol poisoning?
Maybe a Mimosa or 3 will smooth out the rough edges.

Clank free since Seattle.
'Course, I've been sick, then sick, then
hurt (shoulder) and hurt (knee). I get
more trounced by life when I'm sober.

How's the head/eye/brain damage thingy?

Still pressure/occasional pain above
the zygomatic arch that took the shot.
That's daily. Occasional tics in said eye.
Find myself oddly quiet and wanting to
be alone since the Shot Posted 'Round
the Lounge for stretches.
In short-
messed up.

We should compare head injuries.
Three years ago, I took a header down a flight of stairs in our apartment building.
I was stone cold sober and running to make my bus to work. Never made the bus.
My forehead was so swollen that I looked like something out of the X Files, and I had two black eyes for about a month. It was VERY easy to get a seat on the subway - kinda funny the way the train cleared out.
Anyway, I now have a perma-dent in my forehead - and prolly more personalities than Sybil.

The best treatment I found so far is the good old eye-opener héhé!!!!!

Caffeine seems to exacerbate the
swollen sensation.
I'm off Tue., maybe I'll mix a little
green goodness in w/it.
GlassLabia,
I don't have a dent, I've got a slight
bump. Makes me think there's some-
thing done growed in there. Should be
a hoot when the blood clot breaks free!

Even with no insurance, I think I'd see a doctor.
I don't have insurance either, and therefore I NEVER go to the doctor. Still, in your position I think I'd make an exception.
Unless there's an alcoholic doctor roaming the forum who could help you out.

You could go to the E.R. and give a fake name and Social security number.

Health care in many countries is (including our neighbor to the north). Sure they pay for it in taxes but it's cheaper than our scam insurance system and everyone is covered. Definitely a better deal!

I think we need something in between. A base medical system for everyone, with the option of buying higher-end coverage from private insurers if you want it.
Providing basic HMO-type coverage ends up costing less, because otherwise uninsured people wait til they are really sick and go to the emergency room, where the visit costs $10K instead of the $100 for a regular office visit.

Last tuesday after the dreaded M-day fiasco I went to work fairly drunk. The Czeckerland computer tech and I talked for a bit about blades and he produces an old mikov, check it out he says. True to form I thumb the switch and cut a big gash in my hand, clanks... yes maybe but I blame the knife.

I still have space in the "Green Room".
Man, I need go go back to work to recover from this vacation.
I got back home this morning at 12:30am after driving 870miles with stops for food and gas.
I think I have a severe case of the clanks. No drinking during the drive. I also managed to dodge a deer in our lane on I26 around mile marker 68.
Florida was nice. Never hooked up with Raindog though.
We found out that the Wife's Great Grandparents were lined up by a mass grave, and shot during the Holocaust. The entire town in Poland was wiped out by the Germans.
We got four hours of audio tapes about the history of her family, starting around 1900.
The Keys are superb, except that the water is way too hot. It was way too hot to swim in, but at least it looks pretty.
The visit with the wife's cousins was a real eye opening experience. Kind of like showing up at the Soprano's. The first question I was asked was "Do you have a gun?" When I answered yes, the response was "Good." Fortunately, I never needed it.
I expect to read one day about one of her cousins getting arrested for murder. Nice family as long as you don't cross them.
I'm glad to be home, except that I just got a beer and the keg is now empty. Long live the Belgina Dark Ale (yes, I spelled it wrong.)

Sounds like a heck of a trip. Many of my relatives got the same treatment in Hungary.
The thought of a collection aoocured to me too. Since the mayor's injuries happened at the LCLF, we should probably take up a collection to cover his Dr. or E.R. bill. He needs a cat scan of the head to make sure no lingering damage was done. He could post the bill and we could create a fund to cover it. Whaddya think?

I have insurance - but I never did the cat scat thing, as I am extremely claustrophobic. I can barely sit in my cube for more than an hour at a time.

I agree with Musicgeek (xit, that's twice in one day!), with the taxes you canucks shell out, I wouldn't call your health care (or your air), anywhere CLOSE to free.
To top that off, the last time I was in B.C. ( about a month ago), the damned hospitals were on strike.

At least they get something for the taxes they pay. Ours go to help export our jobs, build maore jails for us, and to invade other countries. I don't mind fullfilling my responsibility in paying taxes but I'd like to get something back in return (hype aside).
