This Thursday night through late Friday, I may be in the D.C. area to pay respects to my former Commander-in Chief Ronald Reagan.
A friend from work and I may be flying in to the area on Thurs for the viewing and hang around for the procession on Fri.
Although waits in Ca are about 8-10hrs, I would be interested in,maybe; getting to meet any of you DC folks.

PM me if interested or post here.
If any of you have any good tips of places to go or how to get around the area efficiently, please let me know.

The Metro is a lovely thing.
You can hoof it in between stops.
Spend the day on the Mall. Go to as many museums as you can fit in. They're still free (I think) and there's a lot to see.

I second the recommendation on the Metro.
As to things to do, it all depends on what you like. We have some of the best museums in the country, all for free. Give some hints on what you are looking for, and I'll chip in with suggestions if I can.
You have dinner plans Thursday night?

Raegan was a great man, and a terrific president.
I'd go pay my respects to him if I had the time.

Thanks to both of you about the Metro, I passed through Reagan Apt once and forgot the name of it(Metro).
As to dinner, no. I will firm up plans and maybe we could meet ya
All depends on flight time etc.
The lines in CA, I believe; are suprising a lot of people and may prove to be worse in D.C.
Museums may be out due to time constraints but late night activities might be interesting!

Fuck the Metro!
Half the fun of our lovely Nation's Capital is driving around some of the nicer parts of N.W., taking one wrong turn, and ending up here:

Well, I didn't make it into DC until more like early Friday morning.
After running the Beltway midnight construction gauntlet, all I wanted to do was crash for a few zzzz's.
My friend from work bailed on me, so I proceeded on my own with two Kindern.
A poorly planned and thought out trip, it was saved from total disaster by the DC area Louchedlounge Travel Service ( aka Mr. & Mrs. Justin)
Hey, have to go; a little thing called work is getting in the way of this important stuff.

I realize now, that my friend had never been to DC. He had suggested that we could park at the Smithonian and walk over to the Capitol Bldg.( DC folks are laughing now

)
For any non DC folks, if you ever go to the area; find a hotel in the burbs with a shuttle service to the Metro
I must admit to feeling like an urban Gopher searching for my hole (watch what this stirs up!) a few times, but it is the way to go.

It's been busy at work the past few days so I haven't really had time to post.
I wanted to thank Justin and Mrs. Justin for the great road assistance and the especially fine salmon dinner. Glad I got to try some Butty 3
Glad I got to meet you and your family!
The GreenOne! Also very glad to meet you and really enjoyed the lunch and conversation. It was really neat to be able to sample the MM34 in the cafe.
Hope to get together again with you guys!
