Did you determine any date??
Crosby
LCLF: April 17-Seattle

LF '04: third weekend in July-Atown.
absinthoman
Aight thanks crosby!!!!
Porkio
Out of curiosity, does the host have a big ass mansion or should we all plan on getting hotels?
Crosby
For Seattle? Gassy has the details worked out, I'll let him answer.
DGLeadbetter

He said somewhere in this miasma
that he'd post more later.

Man, I hope I can still shwing it.

And go, too.

Yeah, I did reply in another thread. There is a big ol' house of a good friend of mine's about a fifteen minute drive north of Seattle. Crashing for the night (at his house) after drinking absinthe would be highly recommended. Probably planning on a common folks BBQ, burgers etc, out on the grill. Large fire pit in the yard (someone bring some Hills for a fire starter) to sit and stare at. Any? PM me.
Crosby
I'm so looking forward to this. Spring time in the Pacific NW!
Zouave
I can't get away in April, but I'm definitely planning to attend the July event on this coast. I've been around too long without having met anyone yet, and that must end!
Louched Liver
Right.
Except maybe it won't be happening!

I should just give out my phone # so
folks can talk my wife into letting me
have the house.

"Hi, this is Porkio."
"You remember me, I was Pig Poker?"
"Well, I liked your cookies."
"Know what? Give it up on ruining it
for us all by selling the Mini Mansion."
"Hello?"
"Hello?"
lysistrata
I'm glad someone else brought this up, because we had been planning on attending the July event (already on next years calendar) but when the proverbial shit hit at the Mayor's, I didn't want to be so insensitive as to ask "what about LF04?". I really hope you get to keep the manse, Mayor; the photos from last year make it look quite lovely & it seemed the perfect setting. Maybe we should all send prayers to the Green Fairy. asta-emo.jpg

I guess unless the news gets better from Absinthetown, we'd better plan on attending the Left Coast LoucheFest. Our offer of hosting a tweenCoasts Fest is still on, if anyone has any interest in coming to Colorado....
Louched Liver
I, and then all of you, will know the outcome in a few (3-4) weeks.
DGLeadbetter
As far as LCLF goes, what's the closest hotel/motel to the festivities? I'm looking to book my trip here soon to get the best prices.

DG
sancho
how much would something like that go for?

LF04 may still be held out here, either
in Absinthetown or there's a possibility
of it being in NYC.
Don't panic yet.

Either way, that's great news! Maturin & I were planning on taking a couple of weeks, starting at LF04 & then going over the border to CanuckyFuckyLand, also possibly doing some New England site seeing. NYC would be outstanding as Maturin has never been & he's sick of hearing me sound superior on the subject!

I haven't heard where the official location is, yet. My understanding is that it will be held NorthEast of Seattle. Traffic can be pretty bad in Seattle, so downtown to the location is probably a 30-45 minute commute. There should be plenty of hotels in the NorthEnd for about $60 a night, or less.

There is really nothing to do in the NorthEnd, so if you want to get a hotel downtown, it will cost you at least $100-120 per night.
Louched Liver
Thank you.

Gassy!!!!!!!!!

Cool ... since I don't know any of the names, can you recommend one?

Give me some time to go around and dig up some motel/hotels around. Jack's right, downtown is spendy. For what you'll pay, it would be better to get a less expensive hotel in the Lynnwood (north of Seattle, near the LCLF house) area, rent a car, and explore to your heart's content. If enough of ya'll get together, maybe a group/lower rate can be sought for. PM me if you think you might need a room at a motel. Maybe some of us Seattle area folks can get together and add something to the plans?
Fluffy G
Lynnwood? Heh! That's where my grandparents live. So I sorta know that area. They got a Hooters resturant there. post-8-1069336188.gif
Fluffy G
If you gonna stay downtown get a room at the Marriot. All you can eat free pancakes in the morning. Although I guess they really wouldn't be free if you consider the price of the room.
Off. Jack Batemaster
Lynnwood, huh? I guess Dinky will fit in with his mullet.
Louched Liver
I heard the trailer is a doublewide!!
Off. Jack Batemaster
I haven't been in that area in years. I suspsect it's not like that anymore, so Dinky may not fit in. We'll drop him off in Kent.

1poke.gif You might be from Lynnwood if:

- Taking your wife on a cruise means circling the Dairy Queen.
- The people on Jerry Springer's show remind you of your neighbors.
- You've been married three times and still have the same in-laws.
- You lit a match in the bathroom and your house exploded right off it's wheels.
- You can get dog hair from out of your belly button.
- The beer can collection in the town museum is the big tourist attraction.
- You think loading the dishwasher means getting your wife drunk.
- (Ladies) You don't have bad hair days, you have big hair days.
- People hear your car a long time before they see it.
- You've ever had to siphon gas from your lawn mower to put into your truck.
- You've ever been pulled over by the Coast Guard.
- You wash your dog's dishes more than your own.
- You have lost at least one tooth opening a beer bottle.
- You judge how long a trip will take by how much beer to bring
- You've ever gotten into a fist fight in a Laundromat over a dryer.
- You win the lottery and buy a NEW doublewide to live in.
- There are more dishes in your sink than in your cabinets.
- You've ever cut your grass and found a car.
- Your child's first words were 'Attention K-Mart Shoppers.'

Maybe some time after the holidays, some of us from the NW could meet for a drink and come up with some sort of plan. I could probably get our cover charges waived at The Cuff, or we could try some other place around town.

Uhh...my vote is "for some other place around town" and NOT Nieghbours/Rebar!

Neighbour's has more straight people than any other club in Seattle. I agree with ReBar. It's the only bar I've been kicked out of multiple times. That place has bad vibes.
