This weekend was wonderful because I got to know some of you better, and therefore love you even more. And I got to look some of you in the eye for the first time, and that's always a beautiful thing. I got to put faces to voices and voices to posts and I love all of you people.

For any of you that have never gotten a chance to get together with even one more Lounger, do yourself a favor and make it a priority.

It's amazing how attached we can get to people we've only just met...especially at functions where copious drinking takes place.

Although I wasn't at LF, I can relate the experience. One of the leading graphic design mags, HOW, sponsors an annual, 5-day design conference, which is always held in some bomb-diggity city. One year I went to San Fran, last year I went to New Orleans. The days are filled with trade shows, guest speakers, and various other conference-type xit, and the nights are filled with...whatever. Even though I attended alone, I always managed to hook up with some really cool fucks, drink heavily, and walk away feeling very connected to said fucks.

Within these little microcosms, it's the common interests that initially bring us together, and alcohol that seals the deal.

I hear ya. In my line of work (film sound), there's all these professionals that meet up once a year, get smashed, and just watch movies they think have amazing sound jobs. They call it "Nerd Fest", which is totally appropriate, since we all wear glasses and are a bunch of anal retentive audiophile weirdos who like to drink.

It was all very touching.

I thought the Mayor was out of his trees when he said that he'd light a peat fire no matter what the temp.

I smelled it all of a sudden in the bar area, then followed my nose to the living room. Then I sat on the couch and dozed in front of the fire for about an hour. It has HEAVEN!!!!!!!
