Grey Boy
Hi all,

Just to introduce myself, here I am.

Got interested in Absinthe when about a year and-a-half ago the wifey made some glass beads for a set she named "Memories of Absinthe". So off I went ......
First was a bag of herbs and a bottle of vodka zygi.gif
Then I got a 500ml bottle of Logan, better than herbs but still crap.
Then I did real research and found some forums and settled on La Fee Verte Absinthe House and this joint as the best ones to study.
I've now gone through a lot of Un Emile (like them all, depends on my mood which one I like the best) and am waiting for some Kubler and F. Guy to arrive. I'm also researching the theory and techniques of HG which I hope to put to practice sometime next year.
Thanks all for sending me in the right directions and I'm glad this place rose from the ashes of the old Lounge.

Welcome GeeBee.

Hello Grey Boy wave.gif
I am new here too. We can be FNGs together.
Rimbaud
Now that we've welcomed you into our little corner of cyberspace, you need an avatar! The following is a picture of something called a "Bolivian Grey Boy"...
Rimbaud
Damn, you must've been uploading your avatar pic as I was posting. Oh well...
lambchop
Rimbaud, that is just simply beautiful.
Rimbaud
Thank you. "Rimmy's House O' Avatars"...for all your avatar-related needs! This weeks' special: exotic mammals!

I Like the Bolivian Grey Boy, but I had to use this avatar, but thanks for the offer.
I had the cat staring at me and had to get a picture, just as I took it he starts yawning and releases a large, slimy hairball onto my shoe, a loving memory.
Thanks for the welcome all, and to you lampchop, at least I have another FNG around to give me support when I inevitably fuck something up.
Raindog
Howdy Grey and Lambchop, pleased to meet ya's. wave.gif

Hello, Grey.
absinthoman
Hey, hello new absinthobro!!!
Just one thing, don't talk to explicitly about your HG plan around here. (watch out for ATF)
gasspectro
Hey Rimmy, can you come up with a decent avatar for me?
GS
Rimbaud
No problem, Gassy! I'll work on it over the weekend. I've got Photoshop at home, so it'll probably come out nicer than the others I've done...

Thanks for the welcome Gimpy!

HEY! There is nothing wrong with Bill the Cat!!!

(I'm very happy that he is doing comics again. Not sure if it's started yet, but he's doing a new comic that is based around Opus, but it will only be on Sundays)

Spucky,

TONE control.

Actually, now that the FAQ is mostly read only and trimmed, one can quickly read it and realise what's the whaty here.
Makes it easier on those who want to join.

You have to make it a good one Rimmy, a VERY good one!!!

Welcome aboard GB... I like your avatar.

The cat looks like he's had one too many.

WOW! This place is jumping with new members! GREAT!

I think you may find the F. Guy a little weak (light) but I think you'll enjoy the Kubler a lot...

Hey GreyBoy & Lambchop! wave.gif

I'm new here too. I'm sure I'll also fuck up at some point too! It will be nice to have a bit of support.

When I first found the old lounge, there was pretty often some newbies fucking up, but I haven't seen much of it lately. Maybe one of us FNGs should go and ask some stupid THUJONE!!!-this stuff has nothing to do w/the buzz from absinthe, NOTHING! questions, just to prevent all the veterans from getting bored, with noone to flame.
Louched Liver
Again, now that the FAQ is actually usable, it makes it easier for new folks to at least try and converse in the proper TONE.
Mistakes were never the problem, it was a lack of courtesy as to way things are done around here.
That would bring out the flamethrower.gif

Hi there, and welcome!

Unfortunately, you cannot enjoy the merry camaraderie of yet another FNG -- I've just river.gif lost that epitheton ornans recently.

Not that you're really a FNG. After all, you went through less pleasant experiences than I have[1]. And you're planning some HG.

[1] I've got a bottle of Hill's[2], yes, but it was cheap, and as that was *after* I had a bottle of François Guy (courtesy of a colleague called Guy Francois), I quickly saw it for what it was -- no agonizing "is absinthe really for me" because of it.

[2] [Donning asbestos suit] Come to think of it, I don't know why people diss it, except for the act it's not absinthe (despite what the label says). It tastes like cough syrup, but then, they do make these cough syrups taste like that because supposedly some people like that taste. [For the record: I don't, save as the alcohol for "banane flambées"]
Rimbaud
Gassy, your new avatar is done. Just having some technical difficulties trying to post it. Hopefully, it will be up shortly...
