I just recieved my new bottle of S.V. yesturday and it seamed to be cloady before I added water, then when it was louched it had green floaty stuff on top. The taste was on the woody side. This is my third bottle of S.V. and the other two did not have this. Wha happened?

SV benefits from a good shake before you pour. This is because of the coloring step and the filtration used. From what Ned said, the original Berger had the same issue.

I don't think it's a bad thing, just probably authentic. If he filtered more aggressively or did the colouring step differently, it would taste different, which IMO would be a bad thing.

Yes, I agree with Porkio. If it was more aggressively filtered, the flavor would be somewhat altered. All in all the SV is a very excellent product, and IMHO, the finest commercially available absinthe.

Best of all, it's vegetable matter.
Does that mean a glass of VS counts as a serving of veggies?
