Didn't comment on your reading them, friend.
I was touched by how you take that extra bit o' time to reply to all of them.
So, if I post 20 times a day, that means you will have at LEAST 20 posts for that day, on top of whatever sage and wise widom you're willing to bestow on us.
That's dedication, man.

I have Facist-Comcast which allows
some decent On-Demand xit. I'm
viewing a Chemical Bros. video about
getting high. Rancid is next.
Xit - they have guitar lessons! Meebe
that's next; my amp is winking at me.

What kind of setup do you have? I just saw a nice Schecter A-1 at the guitar shop. A little too much $$ though. Right now my main ax is a '72 SG.
Bumpferret
Nov 21 2004, 05:47 PM
I'd never get a "band" tatoo BUT,
DEVO has some options. Boogie Boy
is nifty, and there's a satanic clown on
the Peek-a-Boo video that screams,
"ink me!"
Ouchie would be a grate regret.

1953 Gretsch, ST-100, and new (used) Ibanez
which is my first lefty. I double-hand tap and the
new guitar handily lends itself to that xit.
I'm looking for a left-handed Iceman, but
none seem to exist. Oh well.

Yeah I saw that one at the beginning of the summer. Pretty decent song, and the video is really fucking cool.
I can't remember the last video I've seen. I think it had something to do with paper sheep being sent to slaughter.
I've got pre-disco Blondie (back when she was punk) and The Flaming Lips on right now.

I'm listening to an 80s station on Live365.com.
On the way to work, I listened to the "new" (changed ownership) 97.5, Bob FM. Yes, they named it Bob.
"Best of the 70s, 80s, whatever."
"Turn your knob to Bob."
Between songs, the voiceover simply says, "Bob."
Dobbs?

That happened earlier this year in Atlanta. They changed 92.9FM to Dave FM. Must be part of a corporate takeover. I could care less, XM radio and CD’s for me.

Has anyone heard the Alessandro Moreschi recordings? I'm curious about the work of the last castrato, but if it's going to be all scratchy and fooked-up-sounding, I'm not sure I want to throw down for a disk.
Rimbaud
Dec 9 2004, 08:06 AM
I'd like to hear it as well. I just checked out some reviews for an album of his over at Amazon. It got very good reviews (4.5 stars, based on 10 reviews). The whole castrato thing is quite intriguing. I've been wanting to see the film Farinelli for a while now. I may have to bump it up on my Netflix list...

I'm glad you mentioned Farinelli. I forgot about that after having meant to see it for ages. I think I'll get that Moreschi cd after the holiday. I'll have to see if I can figure out how to make an additional copy for my personal, noncommercial use.

"Jimmy Scott suffers from a rare hereditary condition called Kallmann's Syndrome that prevented him from experiencing puberty, such that he stopped growing when he was less than five feet tall and his voice never changed from a boy soprano's."
