I looked quickly through these threads and didn't see a mention of it so I apologize if I'm on the short bus again with this one...

I watched it over the weekend and saw a couple of things worth mentioning here.

The movie starts off in 1887. Then it advances to 'One year later...'

That makes it 1888.

Weeeeeeeee...

While in Paris, there's a scene featuring an empty Absinthe bottle on some stairs and later on in the movie, Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale share a straight swig.

He explains that it keeps him going while she advises not to let it touch the tongue.

So there's the movie in a nutshell for you.

but, aside from the absinthe references..the movie sucked ass, right?

it looked fucking horrible in the trailers.

It's riddled with Deus Ex Machina bullshit. Like he has this regular old horse that jumps something wider than the grand canyon to get away from some bad guys or some such shit.
It was basically just as bad as League of Extroardinary Gentlemen.

It was a quivering bowl of monkey spunk.
