Why was there beer drinking at an absinthe party?

I still have a huge goddamned fricking bottle of Leviathan Barleywine 2002 that Assbump brought to the first WS event because at my absinthe parties you can't fucking force fucks to drink anything but absinthe.

It started at the bar with your basic get-to-know-you-xit-xat over some suds.
Then Monster Grime deposited 20-30 pints on the table. Others followed suit.
It just sort of deteriorated from there.

However, I see your point.

I remember a lot of Friday beer-eating at LCLF04 and LF04.

We had to wait until Saturday for everyone else to show the fuck up.

Absinthe is good, but we did wait until all the players arrived before drinking absinthe. I don't see what the problem is.

Friday night is for beer.
Satruday night is for absinthe.
It would be rude to start drinking the good hooch before everyone arrives.
Besides, if you could've seen Skeeter weep tears of joy in the liquor store picking out six-packs, you wouldn't have had the heart to tell him no.

I agree with Jack, I can't see going that far out of my way (much less the expense) to drink beer. I like beer better then it likes me.

I mainly drink absinthe even at home and especially look forward to trying different varieties at a louchfest (as well as meeting folks in person). I admit it would be better not to try ALL the varieties in an hour or two but you get damn thirsty waiting for the stuff to finally come out.

Save the beer -- bring on the absinthe!!!!!

I didn't arrive with a plan; a scheme to sot myself and those around me.

Most of us went with flow... we drank whatever we wanted - bogjumperskirtspreader in a disproportionate abundance, all thanks to those generous fellows I hadn't known for more than an afternoon (especially Skeeeeetaaahhh!!). Beer night was not a plan of mine. I don't think Fight Night was an idea that was tossed around. It just happened. Kinda like a weird sexual experience with Trainer.

You know what else... when the whole gang finally had the okay on Saturday, I STILL didn't start drinking absinthe. Why? I reveled in the comaraderie. I sat back and realized that in this infinitesimal flicker-flash of an instant that I call my life, I could take a moment and appreciate the few seconds that fill the gaps. That is... I enjoyed my new-found friends. Only then did I partake in my fair... scratch that... liberal share.

The whole she-bang started on Friday at Casie Mooray's (stupid College kidz!), I didn't see Abby's house until the moon was high and the front door of her place looked like "Door Number 3" in an episode of The Price is Right. I'd love to say how disenchanting or exciting that night was, but alls I remember is wrestlin', cryin' and watchin' a knife get whipped out. I was drunker than ten indians. Great fun. I highly recommend it.

If the absinthe ever flows earlier than a Saturday, I'll drink it. And if I ever hear of a Louche Fest with NO RULES, I'm there.
