Ok; after partaking some Deva 45 from Spain with some friends, I've went all out and spent literally hours lurking and researching to the point my friends are a little worried. I have to say (being a generally Scotch man), this a great blast--where can you enjoy history and still get blasted?
My first purchase is now a bottle of NO and a bottle of White Fairy, being that they appear to be very different in many ways. A colleague is purchasing a couple of bottles this week as well for our dinner party next week (He erroneously thinks the THUJONE!!!-this stuff has nothing to do w/the buzz from absinthe, NOTHING!!!!-this stuff has nothing to do w/the buzz from absinthe, NOTHING! content is more important to visit the Green Fairy--although I've literally sent him half a dozen sources describing his error).
I apologize for the long message in advance. Thanks to Oxygenee for his amazing insight and I'm buying that foilage grille from Kirk as soon as I can.

How about making sense of that last sentence in the first paragraph? You might get more amiable responses.

Not to mention that this isn't really an Absinthe forum anymore. Apparently, this is now a beer drinking forum.

Spelling nazis lurk here as well, good grief.
Greeneyes--I generally drink Scotch. That sentence was poorly crafted. Sorry.
What do you think of those two choices as a first purchase?

You would find that there are many threads here that we discuss both of those Absinthes. Have you ever heard of a forum "Search" function?
old man
Feb 17 2005, 10:42 AM
Yes, and none of those searches produced a discussion comparing those two. Yes, I get some discussion of each in a vacuum, but that is now what I'm looking for. Moreover, since I've never had a drink of either, I thought I could rely on some of you that had. Forgive the hell out of me.
Oh, and that's pretty cute (adding stuff to my sig)--you must feel really cool.

Feb 17 2005, 10:49 AM
In short, it seems a lot of people love NO, some think it is too expensive, some appear to hate it, perhaps to be a rebel, I'm not sure. It is clear that it as well as its sister are in a class by themselves, unless you can afford vintage. The White Fairy discussion didn't seem to be very substantive. I'll move along. I have to get some work done. Thanks for nothing.

if you REALLY did, you woudl see, IN CLEAR BOLD LETTERS ON THE SITE FAQ, the we require a nice, pleasant, happily worded introduction post. Also, part of the post should include some measure of ass-kissing.
