Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out.
Grey Boy
"Learning to Flinch"
JAMBO!!!
Warts and all, LTF is probably my favorite live album.

Listening to "Poor Poor Pitiful Me" right now...love the medley that it became with "Rose of Alabama" kinda chucked in there.
Grey Boy
That's my favorite part.
I hear a bit of sarcasm when he does that.
Um, obiously.
A.B. Normal
Obiously?
Is that an adverb relating to the playing of a particular woodwind instrument?

(I'm bored and the Penguin ain't here)
Grey Boy
Bitch.
Grey Boy
You lookin' for this --> v

Modest Mouse - Float On & Jane's Addiction - Ocean Side.
CelticGent
The Distillers - Open Sky
Rimbaud
The sound of my mind eating itself.
CelticGent
you selfish bastard, can't you share?
Rimbaud
Ask my mind.

Go ahead, ask it.
CelticGent
brain! get in mah bellah!
Louchelooker
That is an amazing coincidence Abby...I was just looking for a cool Tito Puente CD to buy and couldn't find anything at Newbury Comics. They were all out. So I bought John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, and Miles Davis (three different CD's. Not one CD with all three of them on it.). I'll continue to look around for some Tito.
A.B. Normal
Maybe I can send you something.
CelticGent
he likes metal, send him some anthrax.
Louchelooker

CelticGent

Photographic evidence is mandatory for this topic.

Not the tunes topic, the important one.
A.B. Normal
Um, no.
Besides, it's not what you think.
He was talking about my back.
CelticGent
show me the back that you got, baby.

mmm is that cottage cheese large curd or small curd?
JAMBO!!!
"You sleep until noon and then you watch Rocky and Bullwinkle and then you drive your cab what a couple hours a day and then you come home and order out food and then you play those stupid Tito Puente albums until two in the morning."

"Tito Puente is going to be dead and you're going to say "I've been listening to him for years and I think he's fabulous!""

I had a chance to attend a drum workshop with Tito, even though I'm not a drummer. So he's going thru the audience and pulling people out, assuming we are all percussionists. Sure as xit he picks me, and rather than embarass myself one way by declining, I decide to embarass myself by playing percussion with the master....so I chose the triangle as an instrument with which I could cause the least harm.

So I'm playing away, doing the triangle riffs you hear on popular latin jazz records:
SHANG-sha-sha-SHANG-sha-sha-SHANG

And he stops everyone and yells at me to cut out the Carmen Miranda "booolsheet"!

JAMBO!!!
¡Bueno!

Not listening to anything here at work, but at lunch was listening to the 5-6-7-8's, "Bomb The Twist".

Those girls are somehow mildly disturbing.
Raindog
Ferrets in hats are creepy. Pigs are better, they have that skin tone... sometimes it's almost green or yellow.
Hans Conried
Dresden Dolls....."Missed Me" is playing....
Grey Boy
I fuckin' love the Dresden Dolls,
good choice.
Grey Boy
If you like them and haven't heard of Nicki Jaine
then give her a try, also damn good.
Hans Conried
I haven't heard of her, but will check her out, thanks. Dresden Dolls are playing at the 930 Club in DC in May, I'll probably go check it out. They seem like a good show to see on absinthe. Kaftwerk are playing there as well in May, but at $40 I might have to pass.
mylo
Jeff Buckley - Grace CD
and
The Tea Party - Splendor Solis CD
Rimbaud
$40 to see Kraftwerk sounds like a bargain to me.
Hans Conried
That's quite possible. They're kicking off the North American tour with two shows there. "Tour de France" is fairly good, but twenty-something years later, it just doesn't have the same effect on me that, say, "Computer World" did.
Grim
Dean Martin - Sway
and Memories Are Made of This...

I'm practicing my mambo for when Abby's good and tipsy... or for when Crosby gets "dressed."
A.B. Normal
I get first dance, Grimmy! I don't care how pretty Cros looks.
It'll be a nice change to dance with someone flatter in the chest.
If it weren't for the fact that my partner is a good foot shorter, we'd have to stand three feet apart at all times.
Crosby
Pictures please.
A.B. Normal
Um, no.
Rimbaud
Please?
CelticGent
Jaan Pehechaan Ho - Mohammed Rafi
Rimbaud
From Ghost World?
