I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. At least I still have a couple of bottles left. Should I savor them or celebrate my new house?

Celebrate. Then, knock off a bank. Plead 'priorities' to the judge. I'm sure he'll understand.

I agree with Lars - go for broke (you're halfway there). Also, after you run out of absinthe , you'll be strongly inclined to save faster.

Aquaman:
I know how you feel, I'm in the exact same spot, but all I have left is about two servings of UE - one La Blanche, and one Sapin.
I suppose I'll pour the last two and enjoy them on my new deck, then persuade the old lady to let me run up another $80 on the credit card for another bottle of something.

Congratulations on the house. If you have a couple of bottles, can't you celebrate with one and save the other?

Congrats on the new home!
My husband and I own the "Money Pit" and it definetely puts a leash on the alcohol budget.
I'm inclined to agree with Greeneyes about celebrating with one bottle and saving the other.
If it's any consolation we incurred so much credit card debt the first year in our house that
at some point my husband and Ihave both said "aww, what's another $400" and bought myself
some new fun thing. No doubt by the time your bottles are empty you and wifey will feel the same

Thanks all. I think I will just drink away on one bottle and dig into the piggy bank if I get really desparate. There is always the holidays. Maybe I will get some 'new house money' from relatives and I can spend it on absinthe, no wait, i mean house stuff.

If you keep the absinthe in the house, it qualifies.

For the Future: Remember to always buy at least 2 of everything you purchase. And save one of your new walk-in closets for the inventory. I purchased my new house in July and have about 10 bottles in storage...just for this depleted occasion you speak of.
Congrats, by the way!

Simple.. Now that you own a house, take out an equity loan and buy more absinthe!
