This is a Riedel The Sommeliers Bordeaux Grand Cru. It retails for about $100. I only use it when drinking a Bordeaux that out-prices it. It is really big and will actually hold an entire 75o ml bottle.

The Absinthe Gothica bottle behind must be an 'error' or a negligence.

Yes, certainly an error, but it was cheap and I do kinda like the bottle and can also pour it for people I don't like very much.

That's a waste if you're only using that glass for wine that outprices it, Sucks.
The fun of those glasses is that they can make a $5 bottle taste like a $30 bottle.
Unless you're a complete klutz, break it out more often.
I also hope you've never actually emptied an entire bottle into the glass.
Kinda defeats the purpose.

I went to a sit down wine tasting, and one of the frogs from Chateau Beaucastle was there with a vertical tasting of thier Chateauneuf du Pape. '96 to '04. I'll say this. That was some damn good wine.
Tastings are usually the only chance I get to indulge fine (ie $$) wines, and sit downs are always spectacular.
He started giving me the hairy eyeball around my 4th round of the '96.

Hey Dink, a friend of mine found some wine in the basement of an old house and he asked me if they are worth anything.
He has 2 bottles of Chateau Lynch, 1970 Bags, Grand Cru Classe , Pauillac Medoc.
And 2 bottles of Chateau Couronne Cru Exceptional 1970 Pauillac Red Bordeaux.
And 1 bottle of Grand Cru D Chateau Latour 1970 red wine.
He opened the other bottle of this and said it tasted great.
Does anyone know anything about them, are they worth anything?

Chateau Latour 1970 1ere Grand Cru Classe Paulliac
Ref: 2412 From the very good 1970 vintage and scoring 98/100 Parker points, this red wine from one of the world's greatest vineyards is "One of the top two or three wines of the vintage (Petrus and Trotanoy are noteworthy rivals), this young, magnificent Latour is still 5-10 years away from full maturity. The opaque garnet color is followed by a huge, emerging nose of black fruits, truffles, walnuts, and subtle tobacco/Graves-like scents. Full-bodied, fabulously concentrated and intense, with a sweet inner-core of fruit (a rarity in most 1970 Medocs), and high but well-integrated tannin, this enormously endowed, massive Latour should hit its prime by the end of the century and last for 2-3 decades thereafter. This is will be the longest-lived and potentially most classic wine of the vintage. Cream always comes to the top." Drink now - 2030. A stunning gift.
This vintage wine is shipped in a deluxe silk lined hinged presentation box with four wine accessories (corkscrew, wine pourer, drip stopper & wine stopper) [worth £14.99] at no extra cost.

I sometimes have an issue with spending money on wine because I get it for free from work. If I were going to go buy my own I probably wouldn't spend more than $25 simply because I have car payments that are more important.

Quite nice with delicate tannins. Personally, from that region I would recommend Chateau Latour premier grand cru 1986, if quite a cheap investment is Bordeaux Baron de Lestac AOC 2000.
