Mine is still MIA.
Justin
I just put in an order for "4 of the best".

Not the cheapest way to try Gentiane, but I'm a sucker for a low unit price. Since the cost per bottle was much lower, I really saved a bunch of money, instead of my just buying one bottle of Gentiane.

You all understand that, right?

Now, will the missus?

Or will I be getting some of this?

I should really stick to Loritab. Much cheaper but not as tasty!  basher.gif

I dumped a bottle of 7.5/500s a while back. Most pain killers don't like my body, or the other way, which-ever. I ran the SO off twice while taking them after the bike wreck. Fortunatly for me, she came back.

One time I was literally hallucinating from one of the pain kilers they gave me. I stay away from most except the Ultram. It doesn't mess with me.

I find I also need to go light on the absinthe. Five glasses and I hardly notice it, till the next morning. smiley_abzg.gif

Three days is LdF's typical delivery time to reach me here in the mid-Atlantic. Their record - which they've yet to match - was one day. wtf.sml post-6-1068006358.gif I placed an order which reached them early on a Monday, and I had the package Tuesday. But, that's only happened once. The usual is two to four days with three the average.

I ordered the "Four of the Best" last week and threw in a pre-order of the Fougerolles. I knew that I'd have to have it right away so might as well save on the shipping.

What the hell? I replenished my supplies of regular 68, La Blanche and Sapin. Got a bottle of Gentiane to sample. Top of the list for the new Verte.

For the record........

Order was placed Thursday night, arrived in the Midwest on Monday morning.

The Gentiane is really good, especially the pleasantly bitter aftertaste.

I still like the Sapin the best.

I'm quite fond of the sapin as well in the Emile line, do you think the Gentiane lacks bite compared to the sapin? I like the edge of the sapin, is it more pronounced?
Lord Stanley
I like the bite that the Sapin and Gentiane add to the regular UE. The Gentiane has somewhat more bite than the Sapin. Hard to describe but I think that the "Sapin enhancement" blends in better with the other herbal contents of the original while the Gentiane may overwhelme them slightly.

To be honest, I've never tasted Gentiane in anything before. It may be something of an acquired taste. I wouldn't say that I dislike the flavour at all but it is different. No doubt that I'll have fun working to acquire it.
Raindog
Sounds interesting, probably worth another multiple order. Thanks for the clarification LS. kimouss.gif

Well, I know where you stand on this issue.

So, I have my Gentiane on the way, and I'm hooked up for the Fougerolles.

The only question is, when the White Fairy 60 comes out, are we splitting a "3 of the same" or "4 of the same"?

The taste test UE 68 on the vs. UE Gentiane on the the right. Who will be the winner? Maturin votes for Gentiane, however, Lystie says 68. What do you think.......... biere.gif post-6-1069831687.gif

We took this pic to compare the louche. You can't really tell from the shot but the louche on the gentianne is a bit thicker with a hint color. The 68 louches at a lower concentration of water. drooling8b.jpg

Louching my first Gentiane as I read this thread. Tell you in a bit glass.jpg

Did my usual x3 dilution.
Noticed a more herbal aroma during the louche that reminded me a bit of some HG's I have tried. Mintiness (hyssop or mint?) half way through louche(x2 dil).

First taste, quite a prominent bitterness and bitter after-taste.

Less prominent with successive sips and "taste buds " becomming less sensitive to it.

My less refined tasting experience (and slight cold) don't allow me a better description for you,but I can add that the certain essential tastes of UE 68 still poke through and reminds you that this is still of the family Pernot. yelclap.gif

First time I noticed your signature.

Ah -- at least now we know what your Chief Weapons are.

I'm sure the colour of the robes goes well with the avatar skin colour.

Grrr! I got 3 bottle of absinthe in the last week, plus a sample of #26MM, so now, my liquor cabinet is full, yet, I am dying for some UE-Gentleman. Sounds right up my taste-alley (heavy ont eh bitter, heavy on the mint). And THEN, there are the other 2-3 that are coming out, plus my MM#28 due in early Jan. It's going to be a Green Christmas, Fo' Sho!

I don't know about the folks at LdF, but I bet Jack would oblige. Be careful what you ask for, as you just might get it! 1poke.gif
