Aw, gosh! Thanks, peoples.
I did eat fish and I did get drunk. Slate & the Liver and I went to an astoundingly good restaurant together. I had no idea that trout could be sublime. Before that, Slate & the Liver's mystical synergy resulted in both of them having the idea to play dive bar roulette. That was a gas. I have no explanation for why four beers made me stumble, except that I was possibly absorbing booze cutaneously from the surfaces I should not have been touching anyway.

Yeah, no kidding. Four beers. You and I are THE cheapest dates on the planet. It was a transcendent moment when Liver, of all people, told us to slow down. Bless his heart.
We have your boyfriend to thank for finding Tia Pol, too. The #1-rated tapas bar in NYC! Highly recommended! An all-around perfect day.

Tia-Pol? I gotta go there. Thanks for the tip.

Dinner shouldn't be a problem early in the week (we went on Tuesday). But the restaurant is narrow as a blade, and three-deep at the counter come Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Unless you go at lunch. At lunchtime you'll always get a seat.

No, we had pina coladas and got caught in the rain.

Yes, like tomorrow. It's actually that good.

You betcha. That was the day before. On the day, proper, I mostly alternated between naps and Irish coffee. If only I could make a lifestyle out of this.

I'm way late, as usual, but a Happy Happy to you and yours...
though I think that sentiment was echoed in a textie.
May your cup be full, your pants be loose, and your hat be jaunty!

Did someone say jaunty?
Where the fuck is A-Vibe?
greeneyes

That is a lovely sentiment. I just refilled my coffee, I am lazing about in sweats and I picked up an Oscar the Grouch hat in A-town, so I am off to a good start.
