These people are not only idiots but liars to boot. First of all, Brokeback Mountain has made over $30 million (not the $25 they claim) and second of all, it only cost $14 million to make, which means it has made back more than twice what it cost to make, making it very profitable, much like their beloved Chronicles of Narnia.
Don't go see any of those movies that the evil Golden Globes (clearly an allusion to uncovered bosoms) honour though, they make baby Jesus cry!

I read all of those books as a kid. I felt so ripped off when I discovered that I had willingly exposed myself to proselytism. I was an overly serious child.

This is my favourite quote from that article:“Once again, the media elites are proving that their pet projects are more important than profit,” Janice Crouse, of Concerned Puritanical Bitches for America, said.
How dare anyone in the movie business put anything above profit!

Damn good movie. What gets their goat (not that goat) is the idea that people can actually fall in love with each other regardless of gender and aren't all neatly categorizable.

West Hollywood makes Hollywood look like the Marlboro Man. Every guy there refers to every other guy as "she" or "her". I'm not homophobic (hey, some of my best friends are going to hell), but I felt like I was on another planet in West Hollywood.

I got that a lot in high school. I wonder if wearing glasses and being in AV club had something to do with it?
The real test that proves that sound guys are not queer is gay men have a lot more sex.

I can't refute Jack's parallel or deny Porio's infallible logic.
Everyone thought I was a lesbian in high school. Especially the gay guys. And my mom. I never got to know any sound guys. By the time I started encountering them, I was a vocalist, their natural enemy.
Porkio
Feb 15 2006, 09:44 AM
You're not our enemy anymore, we'll just slap this puppy on ya:
http://www.antarestech.com/products/auto-tune4.shtmlYou know that pitch-jump thing Cher's voice does in that gay ass "do you believe" song? That was done by turning Auto-Tune on in the middle of one note.
The whole reason you have these boy bands and Britney is because of Auto-Tune (not my fault!). They use it live, too. Hardly any of them have good intonation naturally.

Xit, I thought that was a vocoder they used?
Porkio
Feb 15 2006, 12:39 PM
Xit, you're right. I just researched it and they used a Digitech Talker in combination with a Nord lead to generate the carrier tones that followed her melody.
At the studio I used to work at one engineer told me they used Auto-Tune to do it, he must have not known what he was talking about. Auto-Tune works on the same principle as vocoding, it's just more high tech.
I'm not surprised a frequent client of the Cuff would know more about that Cher song than me.

The ironic thing is that in High School, we didn't have an AV club, but I did the sound for all the Theater program's plays. Incidentally I did buy acid from one student in the parking lot...
