"Blanchette", the original absinthe produced by Distillerie Combier (Saumur, France) circa 1900. Blanchette is a Swiss-style, clear absinthe that yields a distinct aroma and flavor of anise and grande wormwood, with a background of alpine herbs. Like our other Jade absinthes, Blanchette is crafted entirely by hand in the antique copper absinthe stills in the Combier distillery.

Ha!
From what I'm told they should call it "Jaunette", since the distillate is slightly yellowed.
I heard it does taste very good, with an excellent wormwood profile, however.

I had a taste of it over the weekend. It was pretty good. It didn't get sinked. It was a bit on the yellow side, however.

Yup, had some over the weekend. I too will concur on the yellowish-ness. Still, it's a darn good absinthe, with a heavy wallop of wormwood and fennel.
I plan on buying a bottle. The price isn't bad either.

It's probably from the wormwood flowers. If they've got any seeds in them that will happen.
