What does it look like. Is it green?
Zouave

Very light green. It louches to a milky-white tinged with green, at a thickness just a little cloudier than Emile 68. Very nice.

I tried a sample of ET #5 a few weeks ago. It reminded me alot of UE 68. I'll be getting my bottle shortly, I am interested to see how it aged.

IMHO, The ET #5 is more "intense" than UE 68. The flavors are richer, and it is much more aromatic. I really didn't observe much similarity between them. I guess I'll just have to have another glass..

I recieved my #5 today, I'm on my third glass. It bears a resemblance in taste and effect to another of my favorites (which will remain nameless). I'm impressed, to say the least.

I got my bottle, yesterday. It is slightly greener than UE 68. Aging has improved it quite a bit. It smells like floral margarine. The margarine scent is apparentlly due to the type of wine base used. The louche is slightly thicker than UE 68. It has a slight alcohol burn and a slight bitterness, which may age out. It is quite balanced. The only herb that really stands out above the others is the fennel, and I am guessing that more than one type of fennel is being used.

Apparently ET has been hard at work, as I just received a sample of ET #9 and #10.
#9 is a big improvement over the sample of #5 I tried a few months back, and I mean that as a compliment. Zero buttery funkiness, and a nice delicately balanced herbal flavour which is better than anything commercial. While #5 was on par w/ Emile, #9 is way beyond that and in the realm of decent HG. Tastes like a Pontarlier with a few extra herbs, all of which are balanced very well. It tastes clean, and the alcohol base is quite different from ETs usual fare, which IMO allows the herbs to stand out more. The colour and louche have also improved from #5. #9 may be a bit young, but in another month or so it's going to be a very good absinthe. Good job.
I'll wait to comment on #10 for another month, as it's very difficult to accurately judge something younger than 3 months.

Yes. I can vouch for the fact superior insult hurling (and even its cousin, use of witty remarks for ironic stabs at whoever you're conversing with) will
a) never land you a date
b) when you've convinced someone to marry you (ha!), will not help one bit to give you a smoother ride either.

I believe that the #5 is the best absinthe I have ever tasted, I would drink it exclusively were it not for the fact that I have to ration the single bottle that I have. What are your thoughts on the #8, have you tried it?

I think I've got the #15. Blanche, right? Smells llike Nutmeg, cinnamon, or something like that. I had one when it was new. It was too young, so it's been aging since then. I don't know when I'll crack it open again - I'll probably just let it sit and age.

Maybe it's mace; the rind of nutmeg.
