Here's a new style of fountain...anyone seen this type before? Does it work properly? Muse Verte Fountain wtf.sml

Digit tried to get one awhile ago from that pastis' american importer. i forget what happened. hopefully he'll see this thread and comment.

They have been around for quite some time. I saw one in Germany. I thought it was ugly, but that's just me.

actually i think he was just thinking of a cheaper alternative. if i remember correctly, the company had a nice set including the pastis for a price lower than any of the other fountains available.

I've heard that there were a bunch of defects, with those fountains awhile back.
I think they had a bunch that were cracked, if I remember correctly.

vintage versions ( 1960's, i believe) pop up in junk stores and flea markets in southern france. it was originally designed for pastis with the hole being for ice (or maybe olives for snacking?)
i concur, they work, but they are all butt-ugly...

Perhaps Peter could answer this, Has anyone tried looking for the original tooling & glass molds from the old fountains?
Are any of the old producers of fountains still in business, doing other products?
