Not.

The old thread was taking too long to load.

So, continue in your inane ways.

You're a little impatient, Spucky. For you, though...
Off. Jack Batemaster
Brewed up a Spelt Wit, this weekend. Ever used Spelt, Spuck?

Dogfish Head Aprihop.

I just got back in town and I think I'm still drunk.
Lots of beer, lots of absinthe.
And if I ever hear the words, "bacon" and "martini" in the same breath again, I'm going to vomit.

Absinthe_1900
A new drink is born.
DrinkSlinger
I'd like to thank Ab and Cros for waking me from a sound sleep.

It's amazing how well I sleep without alcohol.
A.B. Normal
You're quite welcome.
Anytime, my friend, anytime.
DrinkSlinger
The sad part is, my galfiend was actually up at that time... I must be getting old.
A.B. Normal
Naaaa, they're just getting younger.

Blanchette for bedtime, here.

I’ve been packin’ up my xit, and tomorrow is recycling pickup day.
All my bottles had to go (but not before swiping the labels off most of them).

Ladies and gentlemen, a monument not just to my liver, but also to the Lounge…

Every weekend my Uncle would decide to build a house from beer cans,
by Monday his dreams came tumbling down
just like clock work
It must have made an impression
because all my dead soldiers still lurk here
dear,
and they are leading to depression.

Here's the first town I plan to visit when I move
greeneyes
I am switching to dark-colored drinks only.
My new dental hygenist is criminally hot.
Kirk
Absinthe rots your teeth so you should only drink that.
Abby, that was unc's inspiration,
apparently he broke down there once.

I hope you played taps over those dead soldiers.
Kirk
She blew something when she tapped them.

You have no idea...
AndrewT
I've always found it hard to throw away the good empty bottles. I suppose I'll probably do that when I move though. It'll be hard to justify hauling around a bunch of hollow glass.
A.B. Normal
I didn't realize how many bottles I had until I tried to put them in boxes.
So, I soaked off the good labels, saved the sample bottles to distribute among people who might need them, and made about 10 trips to the bin.

I'm feeling more accomplished already.

Time for booze.
Grey Boy
Drinking Stouts tonight and toasting a 97 year old aunt that didn't wake up recently. That's the way to go, total independence to the end.
Friday's memorial better be a celebration of her time not a sad,
woe-is-us pile o' crap. I'll bring supplies...
AndrewT
I'll join in on that toast Drunk.sml

I certainly hope when I die that people have the sense to get plastered afterwards.
A.B. Normal
Amen to that.
Grey Boy
Up till the end lived on her own, bitched at the snowplowers & landscapers for their half-assed jobs, tipped them well when it was deserved, they all feared her. Did her own shopping too, Tough-assed old Yankee broad, from German stock of course...
A.B. Normal
Ok, off the subject of death for a moment.

I'm drinking God Knows What blanche.
I'm about 4 glasses in and enjoying it immensely.

I'm expecting bottles tomorrow.
I plan on having a flashback weekend.
AndrewT
I too am drinking a blanche. Unfortunately, it's one that happens to go by the name Razzouk.

WHAT!
We're absinthe drinkers!
We're Goth and better than though! Heritics!
AndrewT
This would be a perfect place for some screencaps of the South Park episode where Stan turns goth. Unfortunately, my DVD software is being a bitch and won't let me take screencaps.
A.B. Normal
Did you mean "thou?"

Fuckin' drunk.
Grey Boy
Yes, though your point is understood
thou can can still enjoy fuck.gif

AndrewT
Unfortunately, I'm on a PC. When I try to do a screencap, it just comes up all green. Ironic.
Absinthe_1900
Dig up an old Snappy™

I use one for DVD caps.
AndrewT
I can't use software screencaps either, I just get a kind of "window" picture that's all black, but with the DVD image if it's behind the window. It obviously doesn't save that way.

Grey, my Granpa finally paid his tab at 97, too.
Same kind of story. He was a 33rd degree mason ( a serious achievement ) and he drove his comically giant lincoln all over east Tennessee on the lecture circuit, driving through the wee hours of the morning, for days on end, at 97.

He had a full head of brilliant white hair, a great sense of humor, and his favorite passtime was obsessively mowing his 6 acres of property down by the lake, even though he only used it for occasional picnics.

The first time I came to visit him with a southern girlfriend, actually from Tennessee, was about the best day of his life. He had never fully accepted the loss of the civil war.
greeneyes
I think I would have adored your aunt, Pussy.
Le Gimp
Lost a good friend this week to cancer. I've known Charles for over 20 years. He was only 49. Never drank or smoked. Just goes to show ya I guess.

Funeral tomarrow evening.

sorry to hear that, man,

take care.

My grandfather just died in January... at 97 years of age.
Some interfering relative thought he was drinking too much; so he took him out of his own house, forced him to live with his son and took away his booze.

Grandad was hospitalized within 10 days for the DT's. Within another week he was unresponsive, and finally within another 4 days he was dead.

My brother, cousin and I took his 1970 buick LeSabre out for a final voyage of booze and mayem the night of his funeral.

If I make it to 97, no motherfucker better even think about taking away my booze.

Sorry to hear of others losses.
TheGreenOne
My condolences.

The Queen Mum made it to 101 and never gave up her gin. She was reported to have told her fancy-uniformed flunkies, "I don't know what you old queens are doing, but this old queen is dying for a gin and tonic."

Man, sorry to hear about your loss, Gimpy's, Greys and everybody elses.

My friend's grandma was addicted to Morphine for something like 30 years. She went into the hospital for a foot problem, and they noticed track marks so they forced her off of Morphine and she died from withdrawals. Once you're body is used to something, it's a bad idea to shock it out of you, at least if you're old and fragile. It's either going to kill you fast or kill you slow, but you're still going to die either way, so why quit? I think old people should be allowed to imbibe whatever they wish to keep them from feeling shitty and hating what life they have left.
Off. Jack Batemaster
