it's because I'm going through the kind of Real Life shit were people get angry and vengeful and they do things like cut off the Internet access.
Hopefully this was just a threat and doesn't occur.

One must suspect that people who are all the time on the damn Internet may not be living under ideal conditions.
Big dose of sympathy Mr. Mayor, and I hope you aren't cut off for long (if at all).
One morning as I rambled all down the seashore
The wind it did whistle, and the waters did roar
I heard a fair damsel make a pitiful sound
It sounded so lonesome in the waters around
I never will marry, or be no man's wife
I expect to live single all the days of my life
The shells in the ocean shall be my death bed
The fish in deep water swim over my head
She plunged her fair body in the waters so deep
She closed her blue eyes in the waters to sleep
My love's gone and left me, the one I adore
She's gone where I never will see her anymore

If you get cut off Louchie... try this.
Go to a pay phone, pick up the receiver and yell into it "BOOP-BOOP-BEEP- KKKKEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHH- KOOOOOOOOOHHHHH- BIDING- BONG-BUNG"
Sometimes it works...

My ex-wife hooked up with a dude she met on the internet from Central America. Internet wasn't good enough, the $1,300 phone bill tipped me off. I shut off her internet and long distance.
She literally beat the crap out of me, since I wouldn't fight back. I was black and blue all over. I got the message and turned back on her internet.
She eventually ran off, leaving the kids and I behind. She did remember to take the $10k out of the bank before she left. The funny thing was that since the phone bill and bank extraction happened before I filed for divorce. It didn't count in the division of property. She ended up with another $30k in the settlement. All the money was spent on Mr. Central America. Viva NAFTA.
"She plunged her fair body in the waters so deep
She closed her blue eyes in the waters to sleep
My love's gone and left me, the one I adore
She's gone where I never will see her anymore"

Bummer Buck.
Hope things work out for you and the kids. They are what matters.
I filed when the ex threatened to kill one of the kids. Not a good thing to happen. Sometimes life sucks. I didn't give much of a shit what she got as long as I got the kids and was rid of her. The wife (been remarried for a little over a year) is afraid the ex is stalking us. Could be, she ( the ex) is loony as a jaybird.
Unfortunatly, I can't even get a restraining order since the ex is out of state ( a whole whopping 25 miles away). I'm considering getting a CCP license, although sometimes I think that is getting a little extreme.

Thanks for your sympathy, guys, that was a couple of years ago. And your right, the important thing is the kids, fuck the money, and the house, and the one year old minivan and all the furniture...I didn't care, I had the kids and they were just cramping her style.
Anyway, the only reason I bring it up, is that no matter how well things are going, or how comfortable you are with your situation, it can all change in a moment. Don't ever take anything for granted.
Also, no matter how bad things get, keep hope, eventually things will turn around.
Although, I was hoping to find a women with an extra $40k, a furnished house, and a minivan, that part never worked out.

My sympathy to Buck and the Gimp as well.
And here I thought some of my affairs ended badly. Maybe I should be grateful they showed their true colors before children, marriage and property were involved. Thanks for putting all that into perspective.
And thanks for putting the kids first. Children don't ask for any of that crap, and they don't have much power to do anything about it (except go nuts and start acting out).
Probably I never *will* marry. I don't live in a common-law state, either, so cohabitation is not that much of an issue. Marriage doesn't seem to have that much to recommend it (with all due respect to you married folks) unless you're royalty and you have to decide who gets all the stuff when you're dead.

That is a very profound statement. Life can do a 180 on you in a heartbeat. Sometimes it happens so fast all you can do is sit there, shaking you head, asking WTF just happend?
As for the paperclip and telephone trick. It
used to work on the "older" payphones. One end of a paperclip in the receiver and the other grounded to the "telephone" unit would allow free local calls... I always carried a paperclip in college. I saved the dimes for 10 cent draught nights.
Alas the world has changed a lot since the eighties.

Thanks for the words of wisdom,Buck.Sometimes it is so easy to dwell
on the past and the nasty things that happened then,as well as dwelling on today's
little nasties.
I hope you have great fun with your kids at Christmas.
Mini poll:Tinsel or garland? My answer:Tinsel is more magical looking
and fun to stand back and throw at the tree in clumps, but the
"strand by strand" gets very tiring.Garland is pretty, too, and you can
just wrap that tree in minutes!
P.S I do'nt know if no snow is a good thing or not. These 90 degree
Christmases get kinda old.
Despite the too early Christmas music and Christmas stuff out by
Halloween,holiday cheer to all!

you
know that they'll have a minivan or SUV, and even if they're not divorced yet, since they're there alone it'll only be a matter of time before they are.
with the divorce comes money, a furnished house, and you'll get extra points for already showing an interest in their child.

One of my very favorite songs of all time, Perruche Verte. Kristen Hersch, of Throwing Muses fame, does an amazing cover of it on her album of country death songs that I listen to over and over when I’m feeling a little down and out.

You know, that's funny. I've got all my kids playing soccer. It's kinda weird "cruising" for soccer mom's. My town's too small and there's not much opportunity.
Although, I did have some fun talking with a mother of one of my kid's teammates. For a few weeks it was going good, no wedding ring, or mention of significant other. She didn't have a minvan, but her SUV was nice. Then, the father shows up, we get introduced, and now I have someone's wife to wave to at the games.

My sympathies to all in fucked up relationships. I've had my share though I've been luckier than some. It's true enough that life can turn on you but often enough it does get better. It's important to keep some perspective and not let crap that's happening now obscure the more positive aspects.
It's good to have folks you can talk to, to keep that perspective on what really matters. Hang it there.
