Sound off. yes1.gif
Rimbaud
If I have the cash for the flight (which I don't think should be a problem) then I'll be there! I'll have a better idea after the holidays...
Off. Jack Batemaster
I'm not sure yet...20 minutes is a long drive.
Crosby
Something going on at The Cuff that night?
Off. Jack Batemaster
I thought it was being held at The Cuff?
Rimbaud
Officer, do you think this will be appropriate attire?

I'm going to try to drive up, (never been west before) stooges.sml
Crosby
The Pacific NW is a great road trip.
Raindog
Too far and snakey, wish I could attend but it's not in the cards.
louchefabrik
I'm looking to buy a new house, but if I'm not too "house poor" by then ; I just might try winging it to the Lefty Coast asta-emo.jpg
Wolfgang
Could someone remind me who's in charge and when it will happen ?

I can't afford the trip but I can afford to ship a box of "party hats" over there...
Crosby
Like most things Lounge related, no one is really in charge. The Mayor is always in charge of social functions, kinda like a cruise director. I believe it was slated for April 18, 2004.
Raindog
...
Louched Liver
Yep, I'm the one to get ahold of.
And I'll be there if I have to hitchhike.
Absinthe_1900
The Louche Fest, Soon We will be making another run....... biere.gif
DrinkSlinger
I'm still planning on attending... remember that pic of BaMa's stash? You think I'd miss an opportunity to sample it all....NO FUCKING WAY! Drunk.sml
Crosby
Put that pic back up. That is if you can find it. hammer.sml
Masque
You could not beat me away with a stick.

No that is not permission to try.

A Sunday?
Crosby
17th then.
Rimbaud
Yes! I guess I'll be flying West on my birthday, then (the 16th)!!!!!

I believe the party hats will be sent to me.

I guess that means I have to go, or have a private party by myself with just me and party hats. Although, I believe some of you know where I live...
Masque
I don't, but I know where you hang out. bat_angel.gif
Louched Liver
I know.
I'd send Ouchy, but you'd like that.

I'm a short distance from Seattle. Let's louche!
DrinkSlinger
Careful, he might take you up on it.
Off. Jack Batemaster
What's a "short" distance from Seattle?

Put it this way, I'd spend more time over water than over land traveling to Seattle.
Off. Jack Batemaster
Bellevue? Kirkland? Bremerton?
mattm3
Where are we meeting, should we get a hotel? em31.gif em31.gif em31.gif biere.gif Drunk.sml

I am certainly considering going to one or both of the Fests... It sounds like FNGs are as much invited as anyone else <smirk>

Guess I will have to see what prices for ticket/room will be, and save up.

Bellevue? Kirkland? Bremerton?

I like to be a little vague on personal details on online forums, but Seattle is either a long drive or a scenic boat ride away for me.
Masque
I was thinking the other day...

I really have little to offer. I have not moved to New Zealand, so cannot help with refreshments... Not a lot of cash, so I probably cannot help with refreshments at all. I was feeling like I was going to be a big fat absinthe moochmouse. SQUEAK!

But wait... there are people flying in... people who need a ride... and I have not been in a taxi for a long time, but it will be really expensive to go anywhere as Seatac is 11 or so miles south of Seattle, and my instincts tell me it will be held north of Seattle.

Anybody need a ride? THAT I can do, earn my keep. Yeah, it is a free event... so what. I want to help out where I can.

Who's flying?

Look in your pants.
That always rates "short".

More so.
DGLeadbetter
And really .... at one point we were all FNG's, yes? I say bring them on!

DG
DrinkSlinger
Masque.

The theme from the last party seemed to work well. Bring what you can, do what you can. There are many who have the means of bringing several bottles, and they will. Some people might pitch in to sport a bottle. Others just bring themselves and a keg cup. It'll all work out. No worries.

...and yeah, FNG's are always welcome. But they have to know the secret handshake. biere.gif
MrGreenGenes
Now how does this work? I'm all for trading samples, but if I try all the samples I'm interested in, I'll be flying too high before I could get very far.

Is it like wine tasting, where you have oonly a small amount of what you're trying? Will the owners be mixing the drinks and then pouring a few sips with into people's glasses?
Masque

No, it's more like a party, where a bunch of people get drunk and act goofy. The only difference between this kind of party and other kinds of parties is that the booze is a lot better.

I didn't try everything that I wanted to try at LF03, but I did try a bunch of stuff that I hadn't ever had before and/or that I wouldn't be able to get on my own. And I sure did get shizzled.

(Of course, there is also something to be said merely for meeting the other folks that share this strange hobby, and picking the brains of some of the really knowledgeable folks who will be there. I learned more about absinthe in two days at the Mayor's Mansion than in 4 months of hanging out in this place...)
Jethrow
I assumed as much, you all talk about the extra bond brought on by beign able to look each other in the eye's. As an FNG I am very much looking forward to attending one or both of the events.

As for the handshake, I guess I'm screwed then right? Hope its not a variant of the Australian Handshake/The Cuff Club handshake, I hear that ones makes you walk funny. <wink>
Louched Liver
People come.
Drink.
Talk-A lot!
Get drunk.
Bond.

My approach was to have a glass of everything I wanted to try, and then go back for 2nds or 3rds of the really good ones. Did I mention the fact that I was up drinking 'till 8am?

Warning: This approach can take years off your life, ruin you for day 2, and may result in a Hoser accent by morning. "I need fooking sheeze"
CelticGent
i drank half-shots of a LOT of choices. if i could have, i would've tasted everything there, but there was NO fucking way that could've happened. so i tasted the kinds that i knew i might never be able to taste again.

i still ended up drinking enough to kill most normal people, but luckily i didn't hurt myself too much.

as dinky says:
