Yes, herbaceous with a little note of mandarine, a fresh and young absinthe.

I think Cros prefers his absinthe old and dry...

The recipe's OK (though his own Dutch Helfrich is a bit heavy on the colouration herbs, it has its charm).
What Lemercier did with it, though, is not. I don't think Helfrich would disagree with that assessment. It's the MDF that sucks the least, but that isn't saying much.

It was a very young absinthe when I sampled it, good and particular but still young, it just needed to age a little, I'm sure it is better 8 months after, I will ask Luc.

I think the Lemercier version is rather flat and not very interesting. The Dutch version is produced by Rijneveen. That one is quite rude and unbalanced, though the recipe is virtually the same. I'm guessing that overcooked wormwood could easily be mistaken for a pontica dominance. My 'own' version has never been released.
This is getting more and more confusing, but somehow I still enjoy it. Well erm... let's see what the "Openluchtmuseum" monster will do to the defiled recipe.

Taken as an existential question, by the way, not even Helfrich himself can answer that question.
