It's the 29th anniversary of Elvis' death.
The song I remember hearing over and over the day he died, "Moody Blue."

You must have been listening to Bonnie Rait try and sing the blues, what the fuck; "gnaw on it" ?
Serius sux, all day, on the blues station, they interrupt it with some burned out roadie they hired as a DJ, talking crap on a commercial free channel, and then they interrupt that to play whatever bullshit wannabe new guy that has a contract that needs pushing.
Multi branding at its best.

Pretty good but not their strongest album. It's sorta like a sampler of their previous albums with all new songs. I like it.

I really liked Summer Sun or whatever it was called. They write nice happy serene music. Belle and Sebastian does too, but Yo La Tengo doesn't bore me as much as Belle and Sebastian.
Speaking of nice happy serene music, Rimmy recently gave me the Galaxie 500 CD "This is Our Music". That one is also very nice.
Sometimes I like nice music.
Sometimes I find myself listening to Slayer's "Raining Blood", Danzig's "Possession" and Ozzy's "Suicide Solution", but there are times that I like nice music.

Nice! I'd never seen the video for that. At first I thought it was Blixa in the devil makeup but obviously that wasn't him since he walks in later to piss.
They played that live when I saw them at Irving Plaza 2 years ago. It was incredible, partly because the live version was entirely different from the recorded version, but just as beautiful. They had some drummer other than FM Einheit, but he was really fucking good, though obviously he used no real drums, the kit was all metal sheets, springs, tubes and a rope with a contact mic on it, which was far boomier than any kick drum could muster.

Two tix to see Tom Jones on the night of my birthday.
Second row.
Close enough to watch him sweat through his puffy pirate shirt

And, with any luck,
on the 30th,
I'll be backstage at the Van Morrison show
