Brigitte Fontaine ? interesting, she's underestimated here in France, yet she's talented. Good choice AB !
Mono for me, an awesome Japanese band.

I got the Klipsch RB 81s. All I have is an Oinkio 200 watt 5 channel, I never use the surround because it sounds like xit so I use "by-pass" and listen to it as a conventional stereo. I forget who recommended the Klipsch but thanks, they rock.
I looked at a larger pair of Klipsch floor models but they didn't sound as good and they cost more than the RB 81s, the specs weren't as good either.
Klipsch is good for the money.
Someday I'd like to have a good amp, pre-amp receiver set.

Oinkio ? it must be some chinese xit

The Klipsch are good and super efficient so you can drive them with a real low power tube amp. You could even build your own.

I'm gonna be blowin' some speakers soon.
I found out you can buy all the old audio pile stuff from the state of the art days for real cheap on E-Bay. Everyone wants suckyround now.
Hand made Hafler amps from 30 years ago are like $100 today.
I'm re-building the pile. .003 thd is bliss.

I care but I also care how you get there. Negative feedback can just kill music. There's a cult built around restoring old Dynaco/Hafler amps as well as the old Fisher, Marantz and Scott equipment. Some people just know what's good.

Surround sound, we used to call that quadraphonic -- the gratest audio brakethrough since the 8 track.

I have an old Fisher receiver amp that's been running for 30 years,
it's too simple though.
I've been mourning the loss of my twin Hafler DH 200's ever since the fire, I never realized how easy it was to obtain the old stuff now, that everyone's going for drowned sound.
I hope to buy 4 of them, one with a Hafler DH 110 pre amp to drive my cd, phono and tape. The other 3 to make a hair brained Frankenstein surround system with a crappy Oinkio as a pre-amp set up.
Where can I get a good surround distributer with less than the .5% thd of the Oinker, without spending a lot of money?

Rotel RSP-1068... <0.008% THD.
Not cheap, but not astronomical neither.
I have the RSX-1065 receiver, and I'm extremely pleased with it.
The Rotel replaced my late 70's Pioneer SA-7800 integrated amp (0.009% THD). The Pioneer still sounded grate, but I had to keep breaking into the unit to clean out all the analog pots and switches. It's now relegated to the garage (where I've piped the zone 2 output from the Rotel), and it currently powers my outside speakers.
