I'd tell you to PTFA and do a search, but you've got porn to post.
Snap to it.
The boys get cranky when you're gone too long.
For my money, the brut d'alambic is my favorite of the newer la bleues. It's strong but it's juicy-fruity.
I think the La Valotes are decent but not grate.
The Clandestine is still one of my staples.
The Blanchette's okay, but I'm getting a magic marker flavor off the latest bottle.
I haven't tried the Ike, but I hear it's okay.
I know I'm missing some, but I can't think of them offhand.

I don't think any of them are burnt™ enough for Jack's tastes.

They could actually do with more wormwood put in them.

They are all crap. 3 years later, still crap - so you'll prolly like 'em. I hear Logan Blanche is the xit, though.

PTFA. It's not a La Bleue; it's a historical Suisse according to a Duplais recipe. FWIW, I really don't like the first batch (of which I still got an unopened bottle - uhm, pot), but the second one is much better (at least the 60% alcohol sample that PeeVee brought at the Heure Verte anniversary was).

Let it age. My Blanchette has lost some of its very fragrant wormwood character in aging, but it's become more balanced and some wierd flavours have disappeared.
My pick for a real Bleue would be the Duvallon - if you can get your greedy paws on it. For something more feminine, the La Valote recette Martin is my favourite, but it's light on the wormwood (as most Bleues are). I still prefer it over the Clandestine.

If it's clear, I call it a La Bleue.
If it's green, I call it a Verte.
If it's black, I call it crap.
I'm all for ease of classification.

Blanche. La Bleue is reserved for modern Swiss clear HG and their commercial siblings.

I'd take you up on the offer, but sending things that large from a private address in Belgium would probably cost either of us more than getting a bottle of the new (and better) stuff from LdF.

Yeah, but LDF is out of the brut d'alambic.
And I'm guessing Cros is, too.
And I hate the word blanche.
It brings back horrible memories from my early Southern church-going, toddler-hood.

Realistically, the Duplais "Swiss Blanche" recipe is terrible - unless you are using crap herbs. It needs to be tweaked like a mother fucker on Mother's day...
