I'll be working until 5:30 or so on Wednesday (I'm not due to come down with the flu until Thursday) but I work mere feet from the Tree (I can't quite see it from my office window, 'cause the stupid GE building is in the way, but I'm close enough that all of the damn tourists who come to gawk at it make my life a living hell). The tree would thus be an excellent place to meet up.

Where is Rudy's?

How early is early afternoon? Both the Professor and I are a stone toss from The Tree and could meet you anywhere in midtown. I mean....of course....if that's OK with him.

If you get bored with Rudy's, I would suggest crawling over to Jimmy's Corner (44th b'twn Broadway and 6th Ave--conveniently in the direction of the Tree) where, if you tell the folks behind the bar that you're a friend of ours, they will be very nice to you. Jimmy's is one of my favorite bars in the whole world, and the only place I ever drink in Midtown.

it's too bad you can't visit them the week after & ride with them to my crib.

This is how I have it made in my mind:

It probably makes sense for the Mayor to stay at my house Wednesday night and yours on Thursday (since I will have to pull myself together and go in to work on Friday). Thursday day can be spent recovering from Wednesday night , knocking back eye-openers, eating pancakes (ha!) and whatever else needs to be done.

No, Jimmy's as in me and Chop's favorite haunt in Manhattan. Not much room to put a jazz band, but they do have a Galaga machine. Relatively near the tree and Rudy's and both of our workplaces. Rammer has been there and knows the way.

The Turkey's nest is on the way from my place toward Rammer's. I don't know where the Rover is, but I hear it's in Queen's somewhere? Both visitations could be easily accomplished on Thursday. The Turkey's Nest looks better by the light of day anyway. That's when all the old drunk Polish dudes are there.

The Turkey's Nest, at Bedford and (what?) N. 12th, I think, in Williamsburg. Cheap drinks, drunk Poles, and legal gambling--Lambchop's favorite place in the entire world. Either by train (i.e. the dreaded G Line) or by bus, it's pretty much on the way to your pad.
